In my experience, e6 is the third best response to e4 after e5 and the sicilian, and like the Sicilian it is an opening black chooses when they want to push for a win.

The Realtime analysis is refreshing! (1) Like that you focused on main ideas/issues at each point & avoided reviewing every possible line for each & very move! (2) The theory and tactics that you mentioned were presented in an straightforward way that helped me understand what I was looking as the game progressed. (3) At my novice level, I wouldn’t see any of them, but it was a good spotlight on how clever and deep chess can be! Thank you! I’m looking forward to the rest of your game reviews! 👍👍

Hope this reaches till Game 14, so we can get some entertainment! Go Gukesh & Ding!

This was great! Good to hear your raw reactions and see you highlighting what you thought was most interesting. At the end of the day, we can always look at the pgns, so it is the personality of the commentator and their insights which make a recap engaging. And you've got both in spades!

26:30: The French bishop becomes a monster, holding together black's entire position and pressuring the white king at the same time! It's a bad ass bishop!

Ding spending so much time so early in the game was very concerning. I'm glad he came back and got the win.
@Ebobster15 сағат бұрын
Amazing that both players missed idea of Bc5 & Qh2, as cutting off king & back rank mates are common themes when king is still not castled in the middle game! Good to see however that Ding is back in form, even if both sides had some inaccuracies. For sure Gukesh is going to have a rough night kicking himself for missing his winning shot and losing a winnable game. Hopefully this WC will not be riddled with as many errors & mistakes as the last one (Nepo vs Ding).

looked like it was going to be a draw until the horrendous Qe2. complete mismanagement of his time that resulted in his loss today Gukesh. of course there are more obvious blunders but using 35 minutes on such a straightforward move is just clearly where he went wrong imo
