I think being able to watch your dreams would give you a deeper understanding of yourself that would otherwise take years-late hindsight for you to realize. Like, you could analyze every little detail and figure out what your subconscious is trying to tell you and discover stuff about yourself that maybe you didn't understand before. I don't know, I just think it would be really cool to make connections like "oh that happened that day, so I dreamed about this" or "maybe this means I'm not happy in my relationship," and they could probably be really helpful sometimes
@camerondon37124 жыл бұрын

Fun fact: when people with Tourette's play an instrument or sing or anything like that, there twitching, spasms and cursing stop (not permenently of course, when they stop playing/singing it starts again). It's really true. I don't actually know why but it's true. Here in the Netherlands we have a whole TV show about it. It's called: Tourette on tour. It's about people with Tourette's forming a band and playing together. So that would be good for you Jack because you play the drums.
@zefirepotato76887 жыл бұрын
its true but that doesn't happen all the time, of what I find they only go away when playing in time with other people, when I play by myself It sometimes doesn't work
@JaysJourney7 жыл бұрын
^ Seconded, extreme focus on 1 thing can help and there are certain things that while I'm doing it I won't tic at all, but singing / music isn't that specific thing for everyone with Tourette's. Also, yeah I saw that documentary about this called 'I swear I can sing' (nice stereotypical title there) that was all about this. Good documentary, but not the story for everyone.🙂👍🏼

@camerondon37124 жыл бұрын
When I'm in a dream, I don't have to control it to know it's lucid. My dreams are complete, senseless chaos that wouldn't happen in the normal world. I would personally rather watch my dreams than control them, because I don't always remember much in my dreams. Watching them back would be like figuring out what goes on that I don't remember. For all I know what I can't remember may as well be absolute chaos, but there may be something more. I don't know because I don't remember, so I would take the chance of being able to see potentially amazing things than be able to make them happen (not saying my dreams are absolutely amazing or that amazing things happen all the time in them, but that they CAN happen (and oddly enough, I had a minor case of deja vu writing that)).
@TrueDeathblacK3 жыл бұрын
@LolWybie Sounds like a waste of a lucid dream tbh. I mean, doing anything just to wake up when you can actually do ANYTHING (still with a risk of waking up or losing control when emotions go over a particualr threshold, but at least that's a risk instead of a guaranteed waking up when you enforce a bad scenario and lack of control). Practiced lucid dreaming for about 2 years when I was a teen. @@camerondon3712 Well, the thing is when you're aware that you're dreaming and control what happens, you can remember things just as good as if they were happening to you for real the previous day (well, it is in direct proportion to the level of awareness and control, so if you're aware that you're dreaming but lose control and just kinda follow the plot, you'll remember much less, still quite a lot comparing to a normal dream).

There used to be a medicine that I would take that was like a little strip of paper that I put on my tongue then press up against the roof of my mouth. Nowadays, there are mint strips that feel exactly the same; combining two of my least favorite things to have in my mouth.

If I could control my dreams, I would become addicted to sleep. Why face reality when you can experience anything within your own mind? I would spend as little time awake as possible, probably start overdosing sleep medicine, probably let my body decay and my life fall apart, all for the wonderful fantasies that would play out every night.
