Miquella and St. Trina lore, as far as I understand it: Throughout the Realm of Shadow, there are 13 crosses, each of which represents or is literally a part of Miquella that has been discarded/shed. 10 of these crosses are for physical parts of him, such as arms, eyes, heart, and less specific parts of his body. Three of these crosses stand out from the rest, however. The one relevant to this video is the cross in the Fissure above St. Trina, which represents where he discarded his love. The other two of note are the one in the Cerulean Coast, which represents where he discarded his "doubt and vacillation", and the one in the final area, which represents where he "abandoned all his fears". Talking about the final one includes some big spoilers, so I'll refrain from talking about it. From what I can tell, at some time before the Shattering, St. Trina and Miquella were one in the same, in a very similar way to Radagon and Marika. From what I understand, St. Trina is the quite literal embodiment of the compassion Miquella is known for. This manifests in the ability to put people into an Eternal Sleep, thereby taking away their pain. The version of St. Trina directly attached to Miquella, I believe, only had the ability to put people to sleep temporarily to ease their suffering, but once separated, this ability became far more concentrated, which is why we only see reference to Eternal Sleep in and around the split off version of St. Trina. The Velvet Sword of St. Trina item description seems to confirm this, saying "When St. Trina was abandoned, the light-purple mists coalesced into an intoxicating deep-purple cloud". In separating the guise of St. Trina from himself, Miquella also lost his ability to put people to sleep and ease their pain, hence why the cross says "here I abandon my love". With suffering so prevalent in this world, the ability to give people a break from it could be considered the greatest kindness. As for the "doubt and vacillation" cross, I believe this is the very first cross Miquella made, representing his commitment to his chosen path. Vacillation, if you don't know, just means indecision. The cross basically just says doubt twice. I believe the second cross is then the love cross, where he sheds literally half of himself, and arguably the most important part. I think the fear cross is then the final one he made, just before completing his journey, although this is mostly because of its location rather than any real story reason. This could all very well be wrong, as I definitely haven't read every single bit of lore there is. I think there's a lot more going on with how the Shattering ties into Miquella's story, and I can't really be sure what parts of Miquella are tied to the Greater Will and the Golden Order and what parts aren't. Afterall, before this point, Miquella was seen as a sort of literal golden boy of the the Golden Order. I also think his ability to pull people's minds onto his side is completely separate from his St. Trina side, even though their controlling nature's seem pretty similar. Also, the fact that he found both St. Trina, Midra, and Bayle before Messmer is absolutely insane to me. It took me so long to find the paths to those zones, yet he just stumbled into both. I don't get it.
@sentientplant96583 ай бұрын
This was absolutely insane to read (in a good way). Last video, with the NPC (forgot his name) calling Miquella a monster, Malania in the main game saying Miquella is the most powerful Empyrean and SHOULD be feared, and now completely discarding his "better half" St. Trina....his lore just gets sadder and sadder to me. He's so interesting

The idea behind Marika and Radagon being the same person is a nod to hermetic alchemy, wherein the perfect being was seen as the conjoining of male and female anatomy without preventing the gifts of both. If Miquella is also Saint Trina, in my eyes that means that the lore suggests Miquella is the only empyrean who had the kind of power to change their own self in totality to achieve a different goal. This suggests that Miquella could have been the empyrean chosen to take the Elden ring as a vessel before mogh stole them from the Haligtree. I wonder if Marika foresaw these events and punished mogh for it ahead of time, and he escaped his shackles with morgott’s help…so much to take in
@blank3arth3 ай бұрын
Except Mohg was tricked by Miquella's charm into stealing him. Miquella wanted to be stolen so I guess he could slip away into the shadow lands. Hence why the ritual Mohg was trying to perfrom wasn't working because he was tricked by Miquella into thinking it would.

Miquella tricked Mohg into kidnapping him because Miquella was relying on his sister, Melania, to come looking for him and to slay Mohg. What Miquella was not expecting was for Melania to stale mate with Radahn, comatosing herself when she bloomed. It’s all coming together lads!!
@gysahl3 ай бұрын
except the Young Lion armor set explicitly says what Malenia whispered to Radahn in that one trailer/cutscene: "Miquella awaits thee, o promised consort." remember, we never knew exactly why Malenia fought Radahn in the first place; there was a lot of speculation but nothing concrete. this makes it seem pretty obvious, to me, that she was there on Miquella's orders to get Radahn to enter the land of shadow to fulfill the vow that they made as stated by Freyja.
@Nkookdmin-fh5cu3 ай бұрын
Lorewise,I think that the first half is true. However, I think it also has stuff to do with radahn holding the stars in place. I think melania was aware of her brother’s orders and knew she had to slay radahn AND mohg for him. So maybe, her course of action was to kill radahn first, release fate and then kill mogh for miquella! But yeah well.. things didn’t go according to plan for her atleast.
@windwaker4073 ай бұрын
@@gysahl That doesn't contradict what op said though. Her being there on Miquella's orders and stalemating with Radahn can both be true. Malenia blooming on Radahn and infecting him with scarlet rot is not speculation. That's just canon. There's no interpretation of events where that's not what actually happened. Either she bit off more than she could chew or killing Radahn was the entire point and part of Miquellas plan from the start. In which case ops theory still holds up. Miquella expected Malania to deal with Radahn so he could make Radahn fulfill his vow, and then come and kill Mohg when she was finished up. What he didn't expect was Malenia not being strong enough to take out Radahn thus being unable to go deal with Mohg afterwards

As someone who’s the exact opposite of what a FromSoft Veteran is, let me tell you what I love about watching Seán cover this entire Franchise: 1.) His Comparisons- In the almost twelve years he’s been on KZbin, Seán has always expressed his likes and dislikes based on what he’s done/ seen/ played in the past. 2.) Inclusion- And not just in this Beautiful Community of ours! I don’t feel the slightest bit outcast because of my lesser familiarity with these particular games! 3.) Entertainment- Catchphrases evolve; edit styles differ; commentary changes. But through it all, you can absolutely see how much Seán loves the FromSoft Franchise! 4.) Conscientious Criticism- Not just of the games he loves, but of the misconceptions; particularly those who seemed to misunderstand what Hidetaka Miyazaki said regarding Dark Souls II and Elden Ring.

I was kind of excited to see you fight Midra, easily one of the best OST's and thematics from any fromsoft game - so for it to be super glossed over was unfortunate. I understand of course, the need to just get the recording done. But I feel it was definitely a shame. I'd say his fight is only second to Ludwig, perhaps third altho I don't know if I'm putting Kos above or bellow still. Both feel like good, fair fights either way, with amazing aesthetics and OST's. Plus all the extra lore from items you missed about midra makes it even cooler. There are definitely more Cinematic fights, in Bayle - for example. But it's not as good of an actual fight, imo. If that makes any sense. Gunna go watch the rest of the parts now, just wanted to leave some thoughts. Cheers jack~ Looking foward to a longer playthrough in the future perhaps that allows for more time on each of the encounters. Frenzy'd flame best ending~

@Laney.R00 dude i have seen your comments all over repeatedly saying this. As nicely as possible dude, just let the man play as he wants to. If you just want to watch the gameplay, but the way jack is playing is disturbing you then just watch someone else. I understand you have your own opinions and can respect that. But dont gatekeep someone elses playstyle man thats a dick move. If you dont want to use a summon or dont want to use a super strong build then do that in your own playthrough and let the man enjoy his bonk sticks. (Also you probably know, but his vids are prerecorded so any build advice wont mean anything but maybe he will do a summonless run in his next playthrough😁)
