The frets are nickel I talked with a guitar tech who confirmed that with Jackson

I don't think this guitar is at all odd. I wish more companies like Musicman/Sterling would build some Cutlass versions with hardtail variants. I think a direct mount pickup/no pickgaurd HSS model, with hipshot bridge and string through body, would sell tons.

Agreed! Clean demos are important for these guitars too! Surprised others don't do it. Tough to grasp what it is capable of when they go straight for a processed metal sound. - It is a film camera, Fujica ST701.

Jackson is by far my choice. I have I think 11 mij Jackson. I want to get a usa Jackson soon, tough decision on which one though. Locking tuners don't lock anything, Any quality non locking tuner will hold tuning just as good or in some cases actually better than lockers....

Locking tuners make string changes easier, that’s for sure.

Locking tuners doesn't lock anything? They lock a string cut short into place.. They're for quick string changes. Pull string through, lock it, cut it, tune with minimal winds. 2nd best tuner is Fenders vintage style with the hole in the middle which I would never change out for locking tuners, but others/regular ones I would.
