Got this for $500 at Guitar Center. Been having a lot of fun with it, love the wide neck, only complaint I have is the FR had to fix it with a roll of pennies, plus the tuning locks don't hold tune well. Tighten them and it does out.

I agree about the bridge and nut. I replaced both not too long ago. Funny thing was, it held tune just fine with the 9 guage strings from the factory.

Finally got mine today. Have to say this Laurel fingerboard looks very light compared to my Amaranth and Rosewood boards.
@mikefrombloodofthewolf70763 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the Laurel is lighter. I don't mind it though. Hope you like the guitar!
@wilkinsi3 жыл бұрын
@@mikefrombloodofthewolf7076 The bridge is really holding tune despite divebombing (I learned not to be too abusive). My 1991 Warrior Pro can't do that. My laurel board is a lot lighter than yours. A very light brown. And I live with the window blind down and light off.

I just played one at Guitar Center on an Orange amp. Holy shit balls. It Fkin shreds........ I’m iffy about getting a Floyd rose .... everything I own is body through. How difficult is it to learn how to use the Floyd?.

Christopher Comstock I avoided them for years, and that was a mistake. I’ve had one on an ESP for five years and have had no problem with it. Once I learned the tuning and string change procedures I never looked back. Also, I am the least mechanically inclined person in the world. If I can handle it anyone can!

Great question! I still like it. I did swap out the bridge for a Floyd Rose Special. The Jackson licensed tremolo was kinda crappy. It didn't hold tune very well and the fine tuners weren't very fluid. I paid $499 for it because it was on clearance at Musicians Friend. I feel like it was a good purchase at that price.
@zakillor41824 жыл бұрын
@@mikefrombloodofthewolf7076 yes the tremolo kinda suck.. Everyone shits on this guitar for that .. It was my main concern.. For that price was good! I found one new for 560€ but now im not sure 😅. Anyway thanks mate!
@mikefrombloodofthewolf70764 жыл бұрын
@@zakillor4182 I kinda thought I'd have to replace the tremolo going in, so I wasn't disappointed. I suggest waiting for a used one or another sale. The body contours are unique. Plus I like direct mount pickups. The reverse headstock is killer too.

@@iyan5702 okay, in general, I'd recommend any X Series model. I'd stay away from the JS Series, unless you want to spend money upgrading parts. The Kelly shape is pretty comfortable to play in seated position as well as standing.
