A fun thing I learned about leopard geckos when I worked at the zoo as a kid is they like warmth, so if you rub your hands together a whole bunch before you hold them they will curl up in your hands and lay there and maybe sleep. Pretty cute!

When my son was about your age, he wanted a hampster and he got one. We had so much fun with him. He really loved it when we put him in his clear ball and let him just roam around by himself. His name was Nutmeg because that was his color.

Mealworms ! You can get a small tank fill about 2 inches with oat meal and have a colony! Feed them vegetable scraps and they have food for them at pet stores. Saves me a lot with my bearded dragon!
