If those Jackson pickups are active versions that would be amazing for the brand. Even the good Jackson passive pickups from past that are famous imagine those with a boost like emgs.

Yeah man I like it..I would probably change the Floyd Special to at least a 1000 or the Schaller Lockmeister..other than that its awesome. I am going to buy one of these as soon as this finish is in stock..I held off on the Crackle finished ones because I had one of the original Charvels with the Orange Crackle with Maple neck back around 1990,and it was awesome,but decided to pass on the newer ones..I like this one a lot,and great job Neil,as always.

If anyone can tell me exactly what these pick ups are I’d be grateful. I bought the guitar and like it. It has a battery compartment so of course they are active. But product descriptions just call them “high output ceramic” which is goofy because no active pickups are high output the whole point is low output for clarity then relying on a preamp to boost them and do some tone shaping. Are they Jackson Branded EMGs? Totally different?

Sounds quite like an EMG 81/85,. How do you think they compare? Seemed like you used the neck pickup quite a bit, you seem to like that one

Yes i do find I use the neck more with actives ,I’ve not got an EMG loaded guitar in this tuning unfortunately but definitely got that vibe

Do you have the chance to do a comparison between your fastest Jackson and a Ibanez fastest model? I dun have anything in mind for the ibanez since they have so many series which kinda confused me. But i do know they their speed neck is like wizard 3 or something. Thanks brother.

I used to have a few Ibanez the Korean DK 2 are closest to the Wizard there’s not much between them I find Jacksons sound a bit fuller

I had one, it had an awesome sound, playability was smooth, very easy-to-use and comfortable to hold. But i started having some sound problems, it would suddenly cut off in the middle of playing so i traded it for another guitar.

Sounds like dodgey electrics may even be a pickup switch

Mine had the exact problem right out of the box, took out the faulty import switch (as they always are) and threw in a CRL.

One quick fix I discovered is to line the inside of cover plate where all the electronics are with black tape, seems I had a shorting problem with the foil cover they use on the inside.

Does it have the same plug-in as an emg they can just switch the Jackson pickup to emg so u don't need it change wiring

Anyone else sick of mid-priced guitars with Floyd Specials? Kramer, at least, have been marketing Floyd 1000 guitars with Seymour Duncan pickups for £500 odd.

Peach Guitars selling a Baretta new for £549. I bought my Bumblebee Yellow Baretta for the same price and they've ramped up prices now. I'd recommend getting it and doing a review on it. Actual Floyd 1000 and Seymour Duncan pickups, alder body and sublime QC for £549. Definitely can't go wrong for a name brand.

The 84 and Barettas are very similarly priced and you can all for under £600 new. The Knightswans are a little difficult to get at this price but it's not impossible. My polka dot Knightswans was bought for £599 but I think they've ramped up the prices now unfortunately.

that fretboard looks Horrible, I played one new 2021 X series and feels so dry and visually looks worst, Fender is ruinning Jackson Brand.

Ok so rosewood has been replaced by other woods in this case Laurel which looks very similar just a bit more grainy and lighter,all brands are replacing rosewood it’s not just Fender
