Steichen was gonna make Richardson the starter for week 9 but Richardson was too tired to attend the meeting
@dabneyoffermein595Күн бұрын
Wow, some of those throws were just atrocious. The spot-on comment about chasing an outlier in Josh Allen, that's the best way to put it I've heard yet. Every GM knows the metrics on an inaccurate passer coming out of college, it doesn't get any better except for Josh Allen. Agents, GM's, Consultants in the NFL all know, it's very very bleak for an inaccurate passer like Richardson. He has bust written all over him. If the Colts pull it off, it would be a miracle and I'm here for the ride.
@theone7778Күн бұрын
Also did you see the Allen throws in college? He had some ridiculously amazing throws that you could tell he would be special if he was coached properly, i see how I would as a gm I would draft him and do everything possible to tighten his mechanics. Richardson throws a nice deep ball, that’s about it.

Richardson was benched because the Colts unexpectedly have a good team in playoff contention. Other young struggling QBs was given a longer leash because their teams were in rebuild mode so they could afford to be more patient

Let's be honest we botched this up from the beginning. We took a guy who wasn't ready for nfl 4th overall (we still could have gotten him, I'm 2nd or 3rd round). we then, without seeing anything, automatically decided he is the starter no matter what. Started to learn his flaws and just how unexperienced he is and kept on insisting reps. All he needs is reps. Than season 2 decided, "Here's a good idea. Let's get him a backup who's better to sit on the bench. And here we sit with what's going on a devided fan base, a mess of a team. are we good, are we not.

AR was benched, because Flacco is playing some fantastic ball. He's started 2 games, played in pretty much the whole game against Pittsburgh. Has a 7/1 td/int ratio and has completed 65.7% of his passes in those 3 games against some top 10 defenses. There's no way the locker room wants AR who is around 44% completion when they see Flacco playjng like a top 5 QB.
@NatesHandlebarsКүн бұрын
the top 2 receivers have come to his defense today. and I'm sure if steichen ran the samw offense for AR he did for flacco ARs % would be up. Flacco throws a lot of short routes. ARs best game % wise last year was week 1 against the jags where he threw for 64% and that whole game he was throwing short throws and screens. this sunday he was 6/8 on checkdowns/ passes within 5 yards. that opening drive against the bengals in preseason he was 7/8 and majority of those throws were short/ rpos. steichen is part of his bad play

Thank you for the analysis & giving some insight to AR's up & down performance in this game. Adonai Mitchell slowed down on his go route & failed to catch the ball from Richardson. I don't see enough people talking about this considering it's not the first time. I'm starting to realize why he wasn't taken higher in the draft.

When your "good plays" are incompletions, well damn, that's not good enough. Lol. How is this even a conversation? The Colts boned this deal by drafting a guy who can't play football and has never at anytime shown he should be considered a player with NFL abilities. All he can do is run around until he gets broken and then Elite Joe Flacco would come in anyway and try and clean up the mess.

I'm not saying Richardson was good, but he was a lot better than people give him credit for. he has 3-4 touchdowns that were either drops or called back due to a penalty. WRs in general had a ton of drops and could not get separation. The O line Gave up pressure on over half his drop backs. Steichen made terrible situational calls. No one on that side of the ball was helping him. JT was good, but we barely ran him. This is a failure by the coaching staff. you knew AR was young an inexperienced, yet didnt put him in situations to succeed, You made him win that game with his arm. You didn't even run RPOs . You knew this guy was raw and now you're giving up on him after only 10 starts. its a failure by the entire colts organization and it is pathetic. i hate being a fan of this team sometimes.
@RxspctttКүн бұрын
couldnt have said it any better brotha.
@clint721013 сағат бұрын
The failure was restarted him to soon he was not ready. Steichen sold his qb and plan to colts nation. It wasn't working. We can get over interceptions, we can get over low scores, we can get over bad completion percentage, we can get over him getting injuries every 4 games, we can get over not having basic fundamentals. Issue is it's hard to get over ALL of them wheb they are happening all at the same time. In every game. I don't agree with fans about him being a bust. But I do agree we need to step back and try a different approach. He's just not ready to start, and I think Steichen now sees he's even more under developed than we thought.

AD need to learn how to run while tracking balls in the air. he slows down every time and the balls just of fhis fingures. and the none TD catch by AD was BAD. this aint college bro, need 2 feet down. that ball was on a DOT, couldnt have been any better. wasnt there like 4 possible TDs dropped or called back by refs? thats not supporting ur QB, neither is starting the game with 7 straight drop backs, also only 1 screen pass all day, on the first drive to JT for 15 yards, why they never go back to it? not smart if you want ur young QB to grow, making him play perfect right away is not the answer. running the ball, and rythm passing is. But he needds to learn to read the field faster, and where to go with the ball. his accruacy seemed alot better this game, just to many 40 yard throws and late throws. ask Tom Brady to throw is 40 plus every drop back in his prime aand his completion % going to be shitter too! ofcourse we know TB not a deep ball guy anyways. he wanna dink and dunk and pick you apart

Richardson is not ready for the NFL. He doesn't know the basics. His mechanics are terrible. He doesn't know how to lead a receiver. He throws at the receiver, instead of where theyre supposed to be. That throw to Pierce on the sideline, he didn't throw it to the sideline, he threw it at Pierce. He doesn't know how to play the game, let alone the position. Everyone keeps saying he needs "reps". No he doesn't. He needs to be taught how to play the position. Until he learns the fundamentals, reps wont do anything for him. Unless he is taught how to play the position, and forced to practice the basics, he wont develop at all.
