Very well said. I remember an article from a draft magazine (which I still have) waaaay back in 2004-ish explaining in detail the importance of a college QB starting for three full seasons. This desperation to win on rookie QB contracts is going to be bad for most teams, other than the occasional stars like Stroud or Daniels. These are grown men whose livelihood depend on decisions like this. He's not ready. Putting him out there game after game doesn't magically make him mechanically better. I'm not as quick as people to say he's a bust and a lost cause, but I think for this season if you keep playing him you've effectively told the players around him your efforts are for not and we aren't interested in contending. Donovan McNabb obviously threw up on the last drive of the 2004 super bowl because he was either exhausted or the pressure was getting to him, either way he still won't admit it. The media would have crushed him in Philadelphia if he told them he was tired omg 😂

I can’t help but think of Matt Stanford in the game against the brownies, had his shoulder separated and stayed in to throw the winning TD. That’s how you earn the respect of your Team. Richardson won’t ever have his team’s complete support, until he can show some toughness.
@SunShine-xc6dh3 күн бұрын
If I were the coach, Richardson just earned a week of cross country practice. Run around the stadium from the start of practice till the end no stops no breaks

Belichick bought several tons of dirt and had it plowed into hills at the end of the Patriots' practice field. Everyone ran up and down "the hills of Foxborough" on a regular basis to build up strength and endurance. Everyone hated it, they loathed it, but they ran it. And they admitted that it helped.

I don't know the first thing about scouting quarterbacks, but I do know the second thing: When a college QB looks like crap on a game I'm watching as a casual viewer, that's not a first round NFL QB.
@SandevistanSeanzo2 күн бұрын
The only reason he got drafted so high was because scouts compared him to Cam Newton. As a Florida Gators fan, I never understood why he was a projected high first round draft pick the year he got drafted. Besides CJ Stroud, that 2023 NFL QB Draft Class was weird. CJ Stroud is QB1, and we could probably say Aidan O'Connell is QB2 from that draft

In my 30+ years of watching all major sports, I have NEVER heard a player say, "I'M TIRED!!" WHAT?!?! Yeah you, and all the other players on the field!! 🤔 😂You are supposed to be their leader, their QB!! They drafted you to be their franchise QB!!! You know how many other players would absolutely love to be in your position!?!? Wow bro, WOW!! 😂

As a Texans fan they should honestly trade him for a big haul of picks and roll with Flacco. I was so nervous yesterday when it looked like Flacco was a bout to come in but I was never nervous when AR15 was out there.

What NFL team would give up ANY pick for this turd? How many teams are in the market for the NFL's WORST QB measured by ALL QB categories, who can't play more than a few games a year without injury, who takes himself out of games because 30 minutes of play is too much to handle, who gets exhausted after an 8 yard run, and who can't hit the side of barn when throwing 5 feet away from it?
@CBarrett122 күн бұрын
ABSOLUTELY PISSES ME OFF!!!! Keeping him in, let alone keeping him on the team sets a terrible example. For both him and more importantly, his team.

We berated a WR on the Chargers for not tapping out, who was unable to complete a goal line play because he was exhausted. I don't care that he said honestly he was tired, but he deserves all the condemnation for being so out of shape he can't go.
@TheInfamousDJ12 күн бұрын
Colts fan since I was 12. I love how Rich just is like, "It's ok to lie next time. "😂. You have to let AR develop, but it wouldn't shock me if the Colts made a switch now. You have the NFL comeback player of the year. The season is only halfway over. At least AR and Flacco get along. Sometimes, a player needs time to develop. Remember, AR has only played in about 12 games thus far.

@leehampton92872 күн бұрын
True, he lost a lot of his teammate's confidence by taking himself out of the game for being "tired." But the worst thing was that with under 30 seconds to play he decides to scramble...picks up about 15 yards...but doesn't have the awareness to get out of bounds. Instead he tries to split the defenders and gain additional yards. 15 seconds ran off the clock because of that, and the time ultimately ran out after he committed another cardinal sin...he took a sack. A good high school QB knows to get out of bounds to stop the clock. He can do remarkable things, and in the next play do something really bone-headed...like throwing a pick at the end of the half that had zero chance of being a completion. He's got a long way to go. The Colts need to view this as a learning season and get used to the idea of more losses coming while he matures.

When he only completed 10 out of 34 throws, I can't blame him for removing himself. Anthony has talent, but I think he needs to sit and watch for awhile. He was never ready to start.
@Ivmeister_3 күн бұрын
I like to believe that he went off to the sideline to make sure he wasn’t severely injured. The play that occurred before was pretty bad and given his injury history I wouldn’t butcher him for taking precaution. His mistake was how he answered. He said he was tired instead of probably saying he thought he may have been injured. I don’t agree with the media’s take on this. If you put the average in a football game they’re all quitting after their first taste of contact.
@ericparker1632 күн бұрын
The NFL is not the land of average human beings. Every player that steps onto an NFL field is an exceptional athlete. If they weren't, they wouldn't be there. The sideline reporting from the game was hilarious though......"Any word on Richardson AJ.?"..........."They say nothing's wrong with him".......awkward silence 😂

Colts' fan here. I'm completly done with Richardson. He's not it. He can't do it. 2/15 at the half!!!!!! Insane. Every game i watch is incredibly painfull. The only thing he had for himself was his "athlecism" and yesterday proved he doesn't even have that. Move on.

Colts are in a rough spot. You can either go win now mode, and start Flacco, but he's 40, or try to continue to see what A rich has, despite the red flags that are popping up every week, and is playing worse than his backup. Whatever the case. This doesn't help lmfaooo.

The Colts GM Chris Ballard should be fired for drafting Anthony Richardson 4th overall at the 2023 NFL draft. At UF AR had 6 wins 7 losses as the Gators QB1. 6 wins 7 losses is a .461 win %. Make it make sense: how is a .461 win% at UF Gators and a NFL 44.4 completion % worthy of being the 4th overall pick of the 2023 NFL draft ?! WHY HOW did this happen Chris Ballard ?! At best AR should have been a late 5th round pick. He has no business being on an NFL field of play as a QB1. It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact. He sucks. Point blank reality fact: Anthony Richardson sucks, he is not a NFL QB1 and NEVER WILL BE. EVER!

I see no problem with him taking a breather. The Colts were facing 3rd and go from 23 after that play. It was going no where. The problem that everyone should have is his accuracy, or the lack of it
