The empty part of the US is what is generally called the Intermountain region. It includes the Rocky mountain chain as well as the land between the rockies and the western ranges (Sierra Nevada and Cascades). There's a lot of desert in that Intermountain region, although in the northern part it's not as extreme as in the Sonora desert of Az and north Mexico. The idaho. Part is, in fact heavily farmed thanks to the Snake River and its tributaries. The Great Basin states are pretty much heavily desertified since not only are they cut off from significant rainfall from the west by the Sierras, but most of it except for along the Colorado River has no oceanic drainage outlets. Instead they tend to feed some inland basins, IIRC the official term is endoheric or something like that, the most priest one being Utahs Great Salt Lake. Another major one in west central Nevada is the Carson sink, where any streams in those areas sink below the alkali flats.

It's a shame the language map doesn't include the hundreds of Indigenous languages in Australia - sadly many of these languages are no longer spoken but many or any people, but there are a lot of First Nations Australians who do speak the languages of their ancestors and pass them down to their communities. More non-Aboriginal Australians would do well to learn more about the traditional languages of the land we live on, including me!

@@TomGibson. Because so many people from the US go to Mexico and go to different parts of Mexico for different reasons (people visiting family everywhere, people doing business in Mexico City, vacationers going to Cancun), they don't want to label it one category. The map of Africa puzzle seems to be of Danish or Norwegian origin. Some of the labels contain the letter "Ø" which is only present in these (major) languages. Also, the label "Ekvator" for the Equator is a further hint, because both Danish and Norwegian like to turn "qu" into "kv".

"Politically America's got a lot of strong opinions and you can quote me on that" - Jack 2022 and it’s true, the US does have pretty strong opinions (and arrogant), I mean I'm shocked you're surprised America doesn't offer paid maternity leave, we're so self-centered that we don't realize just how bad we are compared to everyone else. But hey at least our government doesn't do fistfights like Taiwan’s Legislative Yuan. It's also no surprise Ireland continues to troll the Brits...it's sweet sweet karma for everything the British have done to them.

Yeah the Swedish go to Finland, not the other way around. Alcohol is actually really expensive in Sweden, just less so than in Norway, where alcoholic drinks are if not the most expensive in the world, at least very close to it. But Sweden is by European standards still very expensive when it comes to alcohol. Definitely not "so cheap". At a bar in Sweden a simple draft beer is usually around 70 kr, which is over 6 euros. That's like 2-4x as expensive as it is in most of Europe. And a liter of beer in a store is still about 40 kr. Which is 3,55 euros. That is insanely expensive.

9:59 that jigsaw is actually made in Norway it seems, but with older, more formal norwegian than what we use today. So I assume it is from the 1960-1980 ish. I remember visiting my grandparents as a kid and they had a few of these types of jigsaws, probaly from when my parents grew up. I cant remember one with Africa as a theme, but they had like 2 or 3 of those types made from the same company.

@@Bobbo_1 To me it looked like norwegian, but I can see where you are coming from since the norwegian "bokmål" is actually made from the Danish language, but changed up a bit. The reason for that is because Denmark took control over Norway from 1300 ish to 1814, therefore we kind of adopted danish, with some minor changes.
