There isn't honestly a great deal that Krillin and Roshi could do to Raditz. In the show, Raditz casually swatted Krillin aside with his tail when Krillin first tried to confront him on the Island. And Krillin is stronger than Roshi. Goku's and Piccolo are both stronger than both of them put together. After their training with Kami, all of the Z-fighters reached more or less the same level as Radizt; a little above it, maybe. Except Gohan, Picollo and Krillin who were all much more powerful than him. And Goku of course, who's.....*coughs*....over eight thoooouuuuuuuussaaaaaaaand!

The Great Ape form or Oozaru is a one time thing at the start of DBZ remember this Saiyan's if they LOOK at the full Moon they transform, but they also have to have their Tail to trigger the transformation No Tail, No Great Ape
