OMG!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I was 20 in '95 which was the same year I married my 1st husband, who was my high school sweetheart. I remember when grunge music first hit the music scene & I went from listening to rap, reggae, house & top 40 to alternative music. You're right ... The 90's were a magical time. I remember what makeup we used to wear ... Covergirl compact for face powder, Maybelline Great Lash mascara, Revelon "Cherries in the Snow" or "Naturally Nude" lipstick, & Wet N Wild eyeliner pencil in black that we would heat up with lighters to make them soft enough for our waterline & that was basically the makeup we wore in Staten Island, NY in the summer of '93 when I was 15 turning 16. U totally nailed the grunge look, Jacqueline :)!!! Amazing & beautiful as always 💖!

Omg!! You totally brought me back to the '90s. My high school and college years were in the '90s. I definately wore a flannel and a choker back then, but not together. I wore the flannel for my grunge look and the cross choker I had for my more alternative look. I had different looks back then depending on what year it was. The makeup looked great on you. We definately all wore the deep burgundy lipstick. Everyone either wore red, burgundy, or brown, depending on what was your look. The music though... The music totally brought me back. Im a big music person and I totally remember listening and singing along to all those songs. Great video Jacklyn!!

Early 90s I was finishing high school & starting college. Roller rinks to me were more a late 70s/early 80s thing (they were starting to lose popularity in the early 90s). BTW, Jaclyn you look a LOT like a friend of mine with this look. She's a little more more goth-ish (is that a word?) than grunge, but I still see a bit of resemblance.

Best 90s video I've seen yet. I was in High School in the 90s and all this was missing was the plucked off brows (seriously I dont know how mine ever came back) and the random "raver" glitter gel we would sweep over our eyes after getting the prefect slept in eyeliner look. And the glitter was huge pieces in really sticky gel. And we did concealer under foundation so it didnt highlight (just color corrected what we didnt want seen). And when we were feeling particularly dark and goth, powdered with baby powder to make our faces as washed out as we could. I cant remember what brand my favorite lipstick was (got it at Family Dollar cause my mom refused to buy it for me) but it was Black Cherry color and just ever so slightly darker than what you have on. To be fair, I have been watching the 90s tutorials to figure out who really knows what she is doing cause now that I've hit a bigger number than I care to say, figured I should probably update my make up and I wanted some ideas where to start - I've been doing my face the same since the 90s - only lightened up on the eyeliner and got rid of the glitter gel and let my brows grow back (mostly and only because plucking takes SOOOOO much time!) since. I figure if you can really understand how I learned to do make up back in the day then you know enough to listen to now so I stop looking my age (or at least my HS decade).

I think it's so funny how everyone is trying to correct me. But yet no one actually was a teenager in the 90s not even jaclyn herself. I was 15 in 1995 so i know first hand what was trending. And thin eyebrows were trending at least in Cali they were. Drew barrymoore wore them, courtney love, the cast of friends, gwen stafani, gwen Paltrow,ect... Do your research ladies. :) bushy was 80s NOT 90s.

If you're talking about the end where she's singing and what not, you can skip past it, it's not that hard. All the people complaining that this isn't really a "90's look" are actually so fucking wrong. The 90's were more about expressing yourself, not really caring and doing whatever the heck you want. Maybe the eyeshadow wasn't sloppy enough to be totally grungy but what I loved about the 90's flair is that nobody actually gave a shit. Now I'm gonna watch me some Clueless.

First off...I love you and your videos! Now, when you say 90s grunge, I think Nirvana, Alice in Chains, you get the drift! Your music was a little off for me...lol. I was a teenager in the 90s and you made me giggle when you said eyebrows were bushy. Girl, we had our eyebrows plucked so thin they still haven't grown back! Rofl. Great vid! Keep 'em coming!

TRL ! Watching it right after school was like a highlight of my day. When Mtv played music videos instead of the crap it plays now. So sad.

You are one of my favorite people in life right now lol. Admittedly, I didn't start watching your vids until a little later in the game but you are officially one of my favorites. You're such an inspiration, not to mention an absolutely beautiful person inside and out, and that's what makes your videos so enjoyable. You make my day, so thank you lol

I have been watching you for YEARS and I always try to pinpoint who you remind me of and it finally just hit me now! Sophia Bush!!!! who I love as much as I love you! You guys have the same smile and like teeth! I wish I had your smile and teeth! But if you haven't watched One Tree Hill yet, do it! Omg! You'll love it just as much as Gossip Girl! Or even her in Chicago PD now. For one: you see a bunch of places you have been and it's really cool to be like omg I have been right there before or see the Sears Tower and Michigan Ave and the Chicago River and all that! Yaaa finally Chicago getting some recognition out there for being the most beautiful city in the WORLD! But she plays a bad ass in Chicago PD, like a Olivia Benson! You three are probably my favorites of life! 😊☺️😘

I agree she does resemble Sophia Bush! (Who is gorgeous! I always loved her raspy voice lol) I was obsessedddd with OTH!! And I LOVE Olivia Benson, as well as of course the gorgeous Jaclyn Hill!

Lol So crazy how much they actually do resemble and kind of act the same may! They even talk similar, like their vocab and tone! Just crazy! I love Sophia's raspy voice too! Omg hahaha in OTH when they're gonna make the movie. Then the girl that was gonna play Brooke, asks Brooke how many cigarettes she smoked to get her voice to sound like that!?!!! Lmao omg so funny! (Sophia's face when she says that) lmao!!!! I will now be restarting oth!!! 😄 love it! I'm glad you guys see it too and I'm not crazy! Lmao

Jaclyn I seriously love you!! I am a 90's baby. I was born in 90. I remember all the makeup trends. Dark lips, dark brownish redish eyeshadow, choker necklaces, ripped jeans big shirts. I remember jamming out to spice girls, backstreet boys, Britney Spears, LeAnn Rimes. I remember I collected lip smackers lip balms. I love the 90's! Best decade to be a kid or teenager! Great shows too!

I was a 90's baby as well, but I was born too late in the decade(1998) to remember any of it. Although I do remember some 90's things permeating into the early 2000's, like Furrbys and butterfly clips and whatnot. I wish I could've remembered the decade itself though, as I LOVE the grunge look and I heard so many good things about the whole decade.

My EXACT reaction when my 90's jamz come on!!!! Best time to grow up. The music was so diverse, and great. People weren't trying so hard to be like the person next to them. Individuality was what we all wanted. LOVE the makeup. You nailed it!!

And talk about 90's makeup.. I remember the original Maybelline eyeliner with the red stick and using a lighter to heat it up in the girls bathroom.... Everyone was walking around smelling like noxema from the covergirl foundation and powder, rocking the Maybelline Great lash with the pink tube and green top.... Yep... 90's makeup.

I love when people my age say they're a 90's kid. Sorry but I was born in 1996, that is considered a "90's kid" and the oldest I was in the 90's was 3.. so how exactly are we 90's kids if we were still pooping our pants and don't even remember anything? If you weren't born in like 1992 then you really didn't do anything or remember anything like you claim you do. Half of the stuff people flip out about being from the 90's didn't even start until the early 2000's. IDK, it just annoys me. I understand liking older things, like I still watch Scooby Doo and listen to Skid Row.. but I never understood the whole, "90's kid" thing, like none of you were walking around like this unless you were a teenager which would put you in your 40's.

There's more to the 90s than just grunge and people seem to forget that.
@Krpq1710 жыл бұрын
I don't think people forget I just think for this generation (people 22- 26) grunge was what we knew during the 90's. whereas older people where more put together but this is also a trend circling youtube right now.
@KarenRamone0010 жыл бұрын
there were other fashion "trends" besides grunge. Grunge was only for "alternative" people (rockers). There were pretty people, nerds, jocks, etc. I lived in the 90s I know. Not everyone walked outside like this.
@Krpq1710 жыл бұрын
lol i know that, and like i said... It's circling youtube right now.
