Jacob's tenderness is always the upper most layer of his creations, and his excellence is not perfection, but rather it is found in the vastness and depth of his expressiveness.

This is the first time I'm hearing this song, and oh am I so very touched by all the lyrics in dodie's verse. "You held me down before," "I'm so free without you," and yet I'm "gonna miss you like summer rain." This feels like it is speaking my soul. "I get by, so high," higher than with you. But you persist in being a part of me. And I continue to miss the times we had that were sweet and joyous, like rain in the summer. What an incredibly beautiful representation of the dichotomy of this kind of grief, coupled by joy. It feels like it's telling me that it's okay to have both, and it makes that grief feel sweeter somehow. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for everyone involved in bringing this music to life ❤

Jacob is one of the best music artists out their now, yesterday and tomorrow. Music is his soul , not in it but is it. I know Jacobs mother is a conductor and from what I've seen she is amazing so I believe her soul is music. Thanks mom, seriously thank you for giving us yourself and your also amazing son Jacob. In every version of this that I've heard (this, the studio recording, and the mahogany session), my favorite part is invariably the tension in the chords and subsequent release on the second verse. In this case, it's when Dodie sings "don't love you anymore" and "so high"
