That last scream... I don't even have the words, along with the quick flashes to just a miniscule amount of the pain and damage we have caused to our oceans. It is raw emotion, and I resonate with that so deeply. No matter how many times I listen to this (I've essentially been listening to it non-stop today) I tear up because I want to let out that same sort of scream to convey the depth of the rage, pain, frustration, and sadness I feel because of what we have done, and continue to do to our environment. I love our planet and all the species who reside on it, no matter how miniscule or mighty, no matter how graceful and elegant, or powerful and fierce. This is our home, and we should treat it and those who reside on it alongside us with the same respect which we demand/expect from our fellow human beings.

You imagine dream collaborations all the time, but you never think they’ll actually happen - their creative circles just don’t end up meeting or overlapping at any point, you know? If I was able to wish into existence one of those collabs before I kicked the bucket - this is who it would be. I don’t keep a formal list, but they would both be tied 1st on it for my favourite artists of all time. I’m finally seeing AURORA live for the first time in 6 days, in Edinburgh, and saving monthly to try and get myself to Manchester to see Jacob for the 2nd time in December. The excitement and joy for both of those shows - mixed with seeing that this is happening is legitimately hard to describe - I feel lighter than air 🎉

For their music. For their personality. For how they go about making music. And WHY they make music. Today, I wake up. Open my laptop. Go to KZbin. And the first thing on the front page in the upper left corner is THIS. And I'm AGITATED. I start shouting, throwing one curse after another. Then, a few seconds into the video, I start crying. Just the setting and the sounds of the ice are so perfect. And I weep and weep, more and more. I can't remember when I ever cried this hard. Music is healing nature. It is. Because Nature and us are one and the same. What we call "humanity" and what we call "nature" are the two sides of the same wound. The gap in between was created by our mind as we temporarily, just temporarily, forgot Who and What we are. Somehow we came to fear it, our nature. It's up to us now to remember there's nothing to be afraid of. Or to feel guilty about. Just like anger, or sadness, guilt is just a step of the way : nobody should dwell upon it for too long. Let's forgive ourselves and move on. Grant ourselves a bit of lightness. The essence of music, of art, of mankind, of everything, is love. And THIS, my dears, can stitch up any wound. 🌱🫀⚡

3:46 Her song progressed and out of her mouth came a sound which felt as if it did not belong to the realm in which we exist. As if she had touched something holy, sanctified for those who have not sinned. As she hit a coveted pitch we remained in trance for what felt like hours although it only lasted about 3 seconds. Completely engaged we were transported. All heartache and physical ailments were exempt there. We were suspended in a white space with glistening fog. Colours, in beam form, of an electric type of blue, yellow and neon green flowed in our peripheral vision. We felt warm and our bodies weightless. We respired with ease as if our souls had found harmony suddenly. In front of us there were smoky white silhouettes, awe-inspiring yet faint. They were foreign to us but we did not fear them. Weirdly, their presence was comforting. Where are we? I wondered. Until the song progressed somewhere else. We continued listening, fully focused …

I can't help but cry here 5:20, it's incredible what the music transmits. And more what Jacob and Aurora transmit

I keep on coming back to this song again and again. It's litterraly haunting me and I'm loving it. That shout at the end is like a therapeutic purge for the soul

I have been an aurora fan for 2 years now through a lovely game called sky children of the light and she has become such a role model for me her music and voice deeply moves me to my core the love and thought she puts behind her music is something to behold. Aurora is a perfect example of the positive impact u can have if u use your platform and voice correctly. A true activist through music i cannot wait to see her live in December!! I LOVE YOU AURORA ❤️❤️❤️

How tricky was it to put the piano there, keep it in tune in the cold (does it even go out of tune in freezing temperatures actually?) and play it without gloves?!
@jurrekieboom2208Ай бұрын
If it were actually freezing, but Svalbard in august is a comfortable 11 degrees these days.... That's kind of the point.

My guitar is a bit out of tune even when I turn on the AC and its change from 33c to 29c, lol.

That's music industry. It is a live performance that does not include live vocals and instruments.
@florahevesi9821Ай бұрын
@@jenniferneumann4484 It was all live recorded, vocals, instruments, water sounds. There was a piano tuner on site and Jacob used handwarmers in between takes.

Physicist here. Temperature will definitely affect the tuning. Cooling a material contracts it, meaning a tighter string. If the material is already cold and in tune, I would imagine it will stay in tune longer than at higher temperatures.
