An interesting point I have not yet read in the comments; The Flintstones Theme was written over “Rhythm changes”, (aka the form of “I Got Rhythm”) a time-honored framework dating back to the beginnings of be bop. My suggestion is to look at his earliest works posted on YT and, when you do, know JC not only performed them, but arranged them and produced them… before the age of 20.

A woman casually decides to check out a cover of the theme song to a popular TV cartoon series that was iconic for her and millions of other children of her generation. The whimsical comedy of the song was not a groove that would generally be thought of as cool, and covers by younger generations of musicians were neither expected nor actually made. Until now, apparently. Mildly curious to see what feelings of nastalgia this unfamiliar skinny young man (who, but for his unkempt anti-haircut haircut, could easily have been her son) she settled down to watch his homemade video. Over the course of the next five minutes her entire life turned upside down, inside out, hung out and beaten like a carpet. The dizzying kaleidoscope of intricately structured sound that swept over her like surf breaking on the beach invigorated her, exhausted her, and left her breathless. By the end she felt herself to be vindicated, she was inspired, a chasm of emptiness yawned within her, and she knew herself to be insignificant and worthless. Never had grief and joy existed so intensely within her, let alone at the same time! Unable to stand or even think of walking anywhere, the well worn, comfy pair of loafers she was wearing suddenly struck her as maddeningly absurd, and tearing them from her feet, she hurled them indignantly across the room. Startled by the noise, the silence pushed back with all its weight, and all she could do was stare back into it. A chorus wheeled before her, singing, apparently, though she was unable to hear anything. She saw that each of the singers was the young man, and all of him was wearing the same beatific expression, as he hmmmed, aaaahhhed and pa-pah pa-pah pahed, rhythmically cocking his heads from side to side with each musical phrase. It was like watching a fresco come to life on the ceiling of some grand old church. Despite being imaudible, she could not do anything but watch intently. If this was heaven, God would surely turn up the volume when He was ready to party. Blessed are the parient, she told herself, for they shall be the first to hear the crazy out-of-this-world music. The Flintstones, of all the damn tunes, who'd have thought the angels would be jamming _that!_ A children's song! Oh, but she longed to hear the boy sing it again, so there she waited. And there they found her, some time later, her hands folded neatly in her lap, but cold to the touch. At first glance, she seemed perfectly present, her head cocked slightly to one side, her face relaxed in an inscrutable expression of serene contemplation. She might have been painted into her chair by one of the Old Masters, a Leonardo or Velasquez. "Seems a shame to disturb her", remarked one of the morticians sent to take cars of her, "I wonder what she's listening to?". He was reminded of his old mum, sat in her darkened kitchen after all the dishes were put way, quietly enjoying some old standard on the radio. He was nearer the mark than he knew, but had no reason to speculate any further. His younger colleague was leaking anticipation for his date that evening, and this was the last call of the day. The client was soon settled into her gurney for the onward journey. "Right, let's escort the lady to her vehicle shall we?", to which the exciteable youth, forgetting his training on appropriate solemnity, inexplicably blurted out a ”yabadabado!". This was not an appropriate expression to use, and the senior shot his colleague a frown. Realising his error, the young man immediately stiffened. Thankfully, there was no-one to wirness his transgression; except for the client of course, but she seemed too kindly to make a fuss over one silly word. And a silly word from The Flintstones! Surely they died out with the dinosaurs, the mortician joked to himself - he was no longer as young as he once was, after all, but wasn't too old to be meta - very professionally stiffling a chuckle. Out of respect for the benignant demeanour of the good lady their client, he decided that on this occasion he would let the minor impropriety pass without comment. His forebearance did not go unnoticed by the young apprentice, who made a determined effort to be extra-dignified until his duties were over for the day. Down on her gurney, lying in an attitude of quiet repose, the dear lady's air of attentiveness had not left her, and her smile may even have appeared more pronounced, had anyone drawn back the shroud to observe her features. But enough of this senseless supernatural speculation! Any such 'observation' couid only be a result of the change in her position, a trick of the light or an overly suggestible sensibility. A smile is the visible manifestation of complex fine adjustments in the musculature of the face which has evolved to enable humans to exchange information about our mental and emotional states that is of utility to us as social animals. When life ends, so too does neurological activity in the brain, and facial expression csn no longer be commanded. A dead person can no more smile than they can tell us whether God exists, or if so, did he turn up the volume?
