i bought tickets to sundays game (7/11) because originally he was supposed to pitch but after the rainout the wednesday prior, they decided not to let him pitch on sunday (for good reason) so i didn't get to see him so thank you so much for this video. it was so satisfying and he's been my favorite player since 2014. i'm gonna get tickets to a game he's pitching some time in the second half. LGM!

Everyone talking about Ohtani meanwhile, Jake this season has been batting over .400 averaging more than 10k's a game and having as many RBI's as earned runs through the course of the season, all-star wasn't fitting enough probably why he turned down the invite

The thing is, 13 Games Started 4-1 3.49 era on the pitching side. Meanwhile at the plate 33 homeruns. I mean providing 33 bombs and only a 3.50era is astounding. Degroms pitching is otherworldly, but the hitting cannot even be in the same conversation as Ohtani. Great points though.

@@chrisofnyc3936 Facts on the hitting part. Bur degrom is an above average hitter on the offensive side. He's hitting .364 as a pitcher although less plate appearances still pretty impressive to say the least

@@gooday7653 sorry but when you are pitching as good (not great but good) as Ohtani whenever he hits the mound, and is number 2 on RBI at the plate, there is just zero comparison. Yes, I'm not taking anything away from DeGrom, he is my all time favorite pitcher, I am a Met fan and I've never doubted him, not when Harvey came up, not when Noah came up, I always had and still have DeGrom number 1. But in this case, there is truly no comparison. Oh and now 34 homeruns. Haha lol

I think Ohtani is an elite starting pitcher with 1 bad start against the Yanks to be completely honest. Not as good as degrom (no pitcher is better then him). (PITCHING WISE) reread my comment i wasn't comparing the two hitting wise.

That year, he was on pace to probably have the best season ever by a starting pitcher. The Mets got the wind taken out of their sails that year after he got hurt.
