I have played against this deck 5-6 times, and they have never NOT flipped Jacob early with double or triple protection and playing an Omniscience into a 7+ mana spell. It's pretty impressive how consistent it is.

tbh standard brawl is worse... yeah historic has a lot of those cool old rares, but with alchemy and the meta, a standard deck usually asks more rares for a decklist esp in multiple copies! cmon man

Acecerak is almost certainly a paradox engine pile. Once you have enough mana rocks you just cast and recast the lich to venture into the dungeon and drain the opponent to death

Nice deck, i have been playing a jacob brew in h brawl for some time but i have taken a more counters approach rather than saving jacob approach. I think this list might have some serious trouble against first sliver which is considered as the same tier as jacob in matchmaking. Having said that, would love to see your take on volo h brawl.

Is historic brawl the same thing as commander?

You can have planeswalkers as commanders in brawl, otherwise pretty much the same. Of course the cardpool is limited to Arena

One other important difference is that in commander, you count commander damage separate. Once your commander dealt 21 damage, you win the game.

Brawl overall seems like WotC's way of saying "ok the commander committee keeps refusing to let PWs be commanders by default so I guess we'll do it ourselves".
