I’m sorry but all the actors interacting with the kids is like the cutest thing ever to me, because you can see from their faces that they’re not acting then, not being their characters or anything and just playing with kids. It makes me really happy to see them break character for something like that especially all the brothers

“So Jacob came to Egypt, no longer feeling old”. Oye. He knew his son was out there all along in his heart and he held on so long to prove it to himself.

Andrew Lloyd Webber put the full version of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat up on KZbin for 48 hours this past weekend. I had watched this same film version as a kid, so I didn't to expect to tear up at the ending when Joseph and Jacob reunite after 19 years. Because the musical as a whole is so deliberately goofy, I never thought the ending could move me to tears.
@sha112354 жыл бұрын
I didn't get as emotional with the musical as I did when I first read this story in the Bible in a Yeshiva as a kid. I think the problem with these musicals is they are all singing so even though the music is good, you don't really care about what happens to the characters, since there is no dialogue.

This was acc a really tender moment; you can see as each brother kneels before him, he slowly lets go of his formality and looks as sad as they do. I loved it when he finally hugs them

From the reading of Jacob his sons and Joseph already in Egypt is very spiritual. This play would have been spiritual had it been played by a cast that have gone through hurts and pains. The real feeling of all Jacob and his sons would have brushed through.

NOTICE THE MATURE MSN JOSEPH IS HERE. In the beginning of the play, he's a goofy, overgrown boy. A little snarky, pale skin, no muscle. Then at the end, he's a well built, confident, authoritative man (the Governor of Egypt). No wonder his brothers didn't recognize him!
