most definitely. I will be honest, Eden's Gate as whole made a pretty decent amount of sense to me but Jacob really struck me on a deep level as someone who knew what he was talking about. the Bliss and the freaky shit they do to corpses aside(I'm kinda okay with john's thing), I guarantee you I'd join.

You TOTALLY miss his point. Evolution is about mere survival through adaptation, while society is about survival + progress. The fact that you can adapt does not mean that you are worthy and useful for society. Today’s society has become soft and is ready to lower its standards for everyone to feel included, which leads to degradation. Humans don’t really have to adapt nowadays, you are deemed worthy for your mere existence. People are ready to raise mentally disabled children who don’t even understand what’s going on around them. Schools are ready to simplify their programs for the sake of those who lack brains. Grammar rules too complicated? No problem, we will praise descriptivism and, of course, proclaim the complicated rules obsolete and useless. Everything selective and complicated is deemed discriminatory and cruel. Difficulty as such is eliminated because it’s ‘bad for mental health and self-esteem’. THAT is his point.

Jacob was the most memorable antagonist for me personally, because unlike the others, there’s not even a pretense of holiness or righteousness. He even says himself that it didn’t matter at the end of the day whether or not his brother talked to god. Day after day, all he does is cull the herd

Out of all the people in the Seed family, Jacob is the most dark but also most interesting character without question, Jacob deliberately set fire to their foster parents farm and was sent to a juvenile detention center as a child, when he got out of juvy he went into the united states military into the 82nd airborne division to fight in many tours in the middle east, the biggest was the first Gulf War in Iraq and then Afghanistan. while he was deployed, he and his best friend Miller were shot down and separated from their unit and forced to walk 200 kilometers to the nearest base. They were never going to make it in time with the rations they had, so Jacob killed Miller and cannibalized him so that he had enough supplies to make it to safety. He suffers from major PTSD from the wars he was in and now he feeds off of the suffering of others, "culling the herd" from the weak, torturing people, starving people to death ect. The writing for these antagonists is just so detailed and dark and people actually say that Far Cry 5 doesnt have proper storylines to follow as a player, Far Cry 5 has to be the most underrated game from the entire franchise so far and its just so sad how people give it so much less credit it actually deserves.

Finally you will atone by having your sin carved into your chest, then removed. But it doesn't end there, if you survive the initiation, you will travel to the White Tail mountains where you will undergo rigorous training at one of the outposts for a month. After you've been trained, you will participate in trials that Jacob will set up for you. Only the very strong will survive the trials and the weak will be disposed of and forced to walk the pilgrimage to Angel's Peak in the Henbane River.

Grace Armstrong's father was driven off the road by the cult. Joseph had killed multiple Faiths before the current one, Rachel Jessop. Judge and Angel production were in full swing almost as soon as the Cult was set up. In the words of Joseph himself from the book of Joseph "Hunters have been found dead and torn to pieces, sending the valley into a flurry of speculation. Like you, I am repulsed by the idea of altering the creation of the divine. I respect its creatures. But the world will cease to exist soon, and in any cases these stories help drive away curiosity seekers." Joseph is confirmed to talk to God. That doesn't excuse anything he did.

What an incredible performance by the actor. He is the best antagonist in the game. I partially agree with what he says, although it is a bit hypocritical to criticize man's alteration of nature when Jacob himself altered wolves to make them stronger. If UN was run by Jacob, Africa would basically be an empty land. You see they are weak down there. They only survive because the rich countries are pumping supplies to them. Supplies that we will eventually lose. And has the hunger and poor states changed in Africa? I loved farcry 5 from the release date and even new dawn but listening to these "preachings" I say faith has me sold second to Joseph. (Knowing their backgrounds helps) Jacob's background of a soldier explains how he is and he is right in a way. John was a yes man and I liked him at first but not his methods. Most people would not survive in a post apocalyptic world but I think the project of new eden would strive if the deputy didn't intervene. If only they knew what was coming. This game topped my favorite story telling, Greg byrk really put his heart and soul into it. The chorus that created some of the cult radio songs did as well. Idk why but farcry 6 really needs to learn it's lesson from these people that contributed to the world of 5.
