Ride along as I take the big fat pig to race some MX. This was about as fast as I could go without bottoming the suspension on the face of the jumps.

Did not expect such a shocking, heavy opener to this video! Glad you both are OK. Super sorry about your dog, that's just awful. By the way, I fell in love with riding and working on dirt bikes again after riding a friend's very nice 1998 XR400. It was the most incredible feeling I have ever felt and I haven't looked back since. Miss that bike to this date. Thank you for the awesome content and keeping the XR alive!

I last raced Mx way back in 2001 on my ‘95 yz250. Since then I grew up, got old, settled down and fell in love with a beautiful XR650r a couple years ago. It’s been one of my favorite bikes ever. Ever since I got my big red pig I questioned whether it was possible to race the mighty 650r on a motorcross track. It seemed like a ridiculous question to even think so I never looked into it. Then KZbin recommended this video....

Love your channel mate and the way you ride the big XRs and prove how good they are in the right hands, so cool to watch. I've had three XR600R over the years and still have one 94 model now and after years of hunting have just got a tidy original 2001 low hour XR650R. They are both such great bikes i love them. Keep up the good work. ride hard 🤙👍. Ps, real sorry to hear about your dog, that sucks! It's a real shame how thoughtless and selfish some people can be. Take care👍

Awesome riding! I love the XR 650! My dad had a 650L. That bike was SO heavy lol! I was 13 and rode a CR 80. I’m looking to get back in to riding after many years. Gonna keep an eye out for a good deal on a used Honda. I’d prefer to get a CR 250 but if I saw an opportunity for an XR 650r at a good price I wouldn’t hesitate!

Wow that sucks about you guys getting poisoned and your dog died. Glad your ok now. I think when you show up to a race put up a pop up canopy on either side so no one can be too close to you. Good footage of the race at sunset. RACE ON👍

Answer is no unfortunately. Been riding the 600 and 650r for thirty years. Hated all KTMs and those little tiny 450s out there because they ruined the XR line. Now I have 20hrs on an EXC five hundo. I've come to the realization my 650 enjoys beating me up almost sadisticly. It's not any faster either. My XR is for climbing and straightish dirt roads at about 80mph.

Ha! I should meet you somewhere and let you ride mine. It's got the heavier springs and it's been revalved by Doug Harvey. Only problem is that it's been sitting in the garage for the last 9 years.
