We are going to need the hearts and minds of some educated, relatively well off people if you have any hope for the ballot box. Mostly I agree with you but Eric Foner is pretty good and did the research that helped overturn the misconceptions about reconstruction and the populist movement that students could find in older history textbooks. Many socialist leaning people are employed by or work alongside others who are hostile to socialism. I remember Eric Foner's book being used in my community college US history class and it covers labor history very well.

Karl Marx attended university, when only the elite attended university. basically Karl Marx was the equivalent of an ivy league professor. do you question the reliability of Karl Marx? we should stop this petty tribalism that does nothing but alienate people that could be a benefit to socialism.
