Your way of solving this equation is like you have to travel from Washington to London and then you take satellite go to moon, then to mars and come back to earth in new Delhi and take Qatar airways to flight to London. Just use delta Ď= b² -4ac in this quadratic equation 2x² +5x-3 b=5, a=2, c=-3 Then X= b² +or - square root of Ď
