You are right about some of the smaller chains still having a good look but the diamond cuts are imperative. I bought the 4mm and 5mm 18k ropes 24” and can tell you that the 5mm is just bigger not flashier. My advise for you on the Franco is as follows. Don’t get the 3mm Franco if you are 6 feet 200 plus pounds . I am and it was just too small. I have a 7mm Franco 26” and it is a monster. With that said the 18k is very noticeable on the Franco and worth the upgrade . If you want a small Franco I would recommend going 18k and 4mm or 5mm for a medium chain. The 18k color is huge difference and it will also show on the inner parts of the Franco. Save your 18k money on chains that the 18k color really shows. I bought 18k on my ropes for strength and grams but some 14k is finished in 18k and when the finish wears away I will notice. Don’t buy a chain in higher purity but smaller mm to fit a budget, you will regret it. Always buy the correct mm for your body type and only upgrade purity if you can. You will never unsee a chain that is too small for you but you can overlook a different shade of gold . Great points in your videos Mike.

Definitely agree. 18 karat is definitely beautiful and better. I am a 3.5 to 5 or 6 millimeter chain fan, depending on chain style. I am looking at getting a 4 or 5MM Franco, but the Heavy Link is the runner up choice. Going to try making it happen this year finally. It’s my Christmas gift to myself.

I have decided to buy a large angel in 18k and wear it on a rope style black cord. The pendant will be the focus and my chains will thank me ⛓️ Any thoughts on this issue Mike? Would you wear a pendant on a cord?

@@SSs-bd6rf I do wonder about that, pendant scratching the chain. If you go cord, make sure it has a clasp that can handle the weight of the pendant. Metal chains are better for heavy pendants, but cords are a good alternative. I might just go chain only for my neck. I’m going as thick as I can but still being classy. That’s why I’m aiming for the 4 or 5 millimeter Franco. Smaller chains are perfect for pendants though.

Ropes and Franco’s are perfect for pendants. You can’t even see scratches and I wear pendants that weight 20-25 grams on all sizes of ropes and Franco’s. You just can’t see the scratches at all. But imo I’d put a pendant on this bad boy and wouldn’t even worry about scratches

I would only stack flat chain's. I stack a 7 mm yellow gold flat curb 26 inch with a 26 inch 5.5 mm white gold flat curb. The look is absolutely fire .

Great informative videos. I have a question for you while I patiently wait for the heavy links to be restocked. I see that you have had both the 4mm and the 5mm heavy link. Which size did you prefer the best? I’m around 5’11” and 175lbs and looking for a everyday chain. I’m torn between the two sizes and really wish there was a 4.5mm. Franco/Heavy is different, sleek, strong but still a very modern looking chain. gonna be the next classics. i wish i could get both in 18k lol

Got my 5mm 22" 14K yellow heavy link in a couple days ago. I will probably keep it--extremely high quality and great shine and presence for a fair price by weight. I emailed Braden though separately about two things. My caliper says my links are 4.62-4.64mm. But it "looks" bigger. Then the color is a deeper orange/yellow, and he explained its a "Hamilton plate" 18K plating. That's good I guess, but I prefer the lighter shine of natural 14K. I can't really tell from your vid because there isn't a good stop motion point---does yours look like a deeper yellow like it has 18K plating? Pics are minimal on the Jacoje site, nowhere does it say 18K plating, and all vids on Jacoje and elsewhere don't seem to show it being this deep yellow. Yours? Thanks!

Yes it’s the same exact chain as you have, but see it like this! It is a total bonus and reduces all other 14k chains in the crowd to an inferior quality and appearance; in fact they will all be scratching their head thinking that they have a far lesser quality gold chain. 18k is definitely more desirable and getting a tint of it for free is a total plus far as I am concerned. I would not mention the plating to any one revealing why theirs looks sub par and yours is the bomb. Only enjoy the lambo looking at their comaro. That’s how I see it!

@@TheTriedTruth Thanks Mike! I think I'm just "used" to the lighter, brighter reflections from 14K. I was also concerned about the mm not checking out, since I have a 4mm mariner bullet link chain that measures about 4.25mm and a "5mm" matching bullet link bracelet also in the 5.25mm links range. I was hoping the 5mm would be slightly oversized and appear much bigger than my 4mm chain. Braden confirmed he believes they are gauged BEFORE the diamond cuts, which you can see as compared to the round end of the links are cut down quite a bit. No worries since the weight I paid for was dead on, as usual. Braden has been awesome at answering my newb emails and even offered an exchange or refund. I will probably keep it as unique compared to my other 14K, BUT a matching bracelet in 6.5mm when available is an absolute must! Keep up the great vids. A couple suggestions: Hold still when draping the chain over your hand in close up view, at least for a couple seconds; please caliper every new chain and report your finding as compared to advertised. Ordering online has enough potential surprises and a good channel like yours would add great value with that. Keep it up brother!

Braden has talked about the plating before and it's an industry standard.i have the 5mm powerlink from saints gold at 18k and it's plated with 22k or 24k. It will eventually fade away evenly but it's quite normal,especially chains from Italy. If you want a natural 14k,go for the franco. Even then,they still finish/plate it with 14k but it's considered natural because it's plated with it's respective purity.

I couldn’t really tell from vids but went back and watched some and I see it now. Braden would benefit from an on-body pic like Saints does. Interesting about Saints Power Link also. I wonder how it’s decided. I have a 4.5mm dc Franco 22” AND a 5mm dc Franco bracelet coming from Saints this week. Already planning a 4 or 5.5 Jacoje curb and matching bracelet. And I’m cool with my 5mm Heavy Link color as long as I can get the 6 or 6.5mm bracelet to match. Most platings are done in a uniform color in the same purity to even up the ends and clasps, so this one was startling. Thanks!

Whats good man. Love the chain content. I was a member of you Facebook group for a good while until your admin removed me for simply saying that people are allowed to comment on other peoples post. Your admin said “ if you don’t have the money to make a purchase then why get on here and make comments about if you only had the money you’d buy something. I said , dude people can make comments on other people’s posts. He got butt hurt and removed me from your group which I think was completely chicken shit and not one bit fare seeing as I was an active member that did business on your page and also enjoyed the content. You may not be aware of this but it is bullcrap and very detrimental to your group. Anyways, hopefully you’re the only person on your KZbin so I don’t have to worry about somebody getting butthurt for someone simply pointing out a fact. I wasn’t even rude about it.
