One of the reasons I love classic fragrances is the price point. You can get affordable fragrances that have much better quality and better composition and complexity than some modern perfumes. And if you wear them today, you will stand out because they're "unique" compared to today's standard. I don't put age in fragrances. So I don't find them dated at all.

Excellent honest take Ramsey, it's so refreshing to have as reference. Recently I have been bewildered by the 'knives out' approach to others channels and content, something I don't believe adds anything to what is essentially a harmless interest. It's a beautiful subject, You and some others have reignited my love of perfume. I lost interest for decades, I would have one or two at most I would wear daily but still less than in my younger days As I wore what is considered vintage, back then I loved them I realised over the years they were not the same, hence moved on and didn't purchase again. Now with online info ,shopping and channels such as this they are still available to me if I'm willing to take the time and pay the price, so I'm happy. I was listening to a podcast this week and there was a blanket negative statement about vintages and distributers along with more than a fair share of expletives and searching for the next word fake stuttering which would pervade to the accompanying presenters.... it made unpleasant listening, There was little useful content for me. I don't feel the need to write it off and complain every week and what's more broadcast it ! I'm happy at where I'm at, this is where I choose to be. They are free to do their thing and I and others here are doing exactly that here. What's going on‽ As for Bogart fragrances I've been guilty of perfume snobbery, I used to see them displayed but not on the glitzy shelves they would be jumbled up along with other cheapies ( Casanova) to one side, or I'd see them on a dusty shelf with a damaged box in a pharmacy. Plus there were so many Classics or power house releases that you knew wouldn't let you down, I didn't feel the need to venture that wide even though I liked 'different'. If only I knew then what I do now.🤔 Anyway...much respect to you and the tribe.

Reading your comments ( calling them comments doesn't do them justice) I have been delighted, intrigued, aghast at your level of knowledge, humoured... extremely 😂 and spurred on to delve deeper. All on a channel with a host that does the same! What more could a perfume lover ask for? Yet there's hostility directed here, which as a subscriber I also take it as a swipe at my preferences. That's my choice, we're not discussing politics, religion, class or race... it's Perfume.... plain and simple.

No experience with the vintage, but current Sig Bogart is something I've used a few bottles. Love it. No doubt in my mind it's a fougére... surprised you didn't get on top of that dark green a touch of.... sour inkiness of sorts. That's what drives me the most when wearing it.

I could totally see it as a fougere and I think I would lean fougere if you made me pick one.. but some sites have it listed as a chypre 🤷‍♂️ I think this one is so unique that cant be tied down in one catagory... like a wild Mustang 🐎

This video was valuable to me. For a while now, I've been interested in trying Bogart Signature. Has it been discontinued? I haven't been seeing it at discounters. I'm thinking about waiting for some to come back into stock at discounters (if they ever will) instead of paying at least $30 at Amazon. From Jacques Bogart, I've only tried One Man Show Oud Edition, which I like and own.

This type of microniche content is one of the reasons I dig your channel so much, bro! It was succinct, simple and direct. Don't ever think that it isn't worth it because for someone like me who has been around for a while but still doesn't know, own or have sniffed "everything" and who also happens to be on a tight gypsy shoestring budget; it's really great to know the cheaper modern release is sufficient to get all the olfactory bells & whistles (as it were) so we don't have to risk dealing with a (quite possibly) shady fleabay merchant purporting to have this RARE HTF DISCONTUNUED Jacques Bogart for five to ten times its actual worth (MSRP notwithstanding). This is only necessary should Enchantee or Moodesir be out-of-stock. I gather and appreciate knowledge whenever and wherever I might happen upon it. Your channel is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to such said knowledge... and for that I salute you! smell swell & be well! xox PS: Do you know or have you smelled JB Eau Fresh? Smashing!!

Greetings to The Goat. This is a very interesting video, bringing to the table reformulation and pricing. To me, current version of Signature is very good, timeless, I would say more ready for 2022 than Paco Rabanne PH (which is not bad at all). I was also blown away by the quality of Ted Lapidus Pour Homme Sport, One Man Show range, Riviera Nights...etc etc. This company is really remarkable. And best thing is...fragcom bros don't care for it so prices are not speculated. Thank you for your efforts, and get better soon 🙂.

I think there is a new version. I bought a new bottle a few days ago and the packaging is different from the one I had before regarding the text. The packaging also says 78% vol. instead of 80% vol. According to the batch code, my bottle is also only a year and a few months old.

Great comparison review Ramsey. I have the current formulation and I love it, I received my order in Feb and there's something about the old school fragrances and their uniqueness as opposed to the new mainstream sweet stuff. Hopefully by the time I am ready to get into my vintage game, the vintage will still be available... Love 70's and 80's perfume for men... P.S. I will be purchasing the Paco Rabbane soon...

You can’t find it for $18 anymore. It’s Nov 23 and the best price I’ve found to buy was $65-$70 for 3oz bottles. Those listed cheaper were out of stock. I too love Paco Rabanne Pour Homme. I love forward to receiving and spraying mine.

I'll be brief. I f**kin' love it. Has that soda fizz along with the greenness at the top and settles into echoes of Quorum. Certified granny panty dropper. 😂 I might consider it leaning to the chypre side myself, but I can see how some people get fougere vibes. Another great comparison Ramsey.

I never tried Bogart Signature but the modern formulation of Furyo I have is absolutely stunning. If you told me it was a 200$ + niche frag I would have believed you. I need to try the other releases.

This is my favorite house I own 8 of their colognes! I own one man show, One Man show Ruby edition, one-man show oud edition, bogart pour homme, Bogart signature, story green silver scent! And fuyro!

Furyo is my favorite .. it is such an outrageous perfume... I love the house of Jacques Bogart... their 1975 fragrance for men Bogart (Signature) is a very close runner up for the top spot for me... and vintage one man show is 🤌🤌🤌

I’m sure there is still oakmoss in the current.. well there is in mine which is 8 years old. Great scent and interesting to hear more about the vintage which I’ve never smelt. Get well soon brother👍🏻

Yeah although I can’t speak for your bottle but the one I’ve got has a decent slug of it. But I’m sure you would be able to tell if it was just tree moss as it has a different feel so I’m thinking our bottles are likely the same. What I don’t get is why some frags can still freely use it while others get reformulated and debased. Stuff like Eucris, Derrick, Black Suede, Dunhill for men and Bogart still has it.. while others like Polo, Jacomo DJ, Quorum etc it got removed. Kinda silly.

I sold mine I’d had it 15 years, green bottle, then bought it again it was 9.00! It’s not as I remember it seems more brown and sour than the green soap that I remember. Plus weaker performance which is a shame.

This smelled great when first sprayed. Then when it dried down it smelled like dill pickles. That's what turned me off of it.

I have both, current & vintage. Very different smells IMO, the current one kind reminds me QUORUM from ANTONIO PUIG very herbal, the vintage is very strong in oak moss and nothing herbal... IMO

Im guessing this fragrance ( vintage) smells different now than it did 40 uears ago. Ive thrown some fragrances away that ive had 15-20 years because they smell degraded and not the same.
