Recréer cette déco,c'était avant tout restituer un état d'esprit à la Tati, incompris à son époque, et malgré tout ,encore aujourd' hui, difficilement accessible pour beaucoup. Chapeau aux décorateurs !!

I Remember this OUTSTANDING classic French movie" Mon Oncle," " Mon Oncle " has become one of my favourite French movies of all time, So funny and will remain a FOREVER a French classic in movie French history, I loved the Arpels house so beautifully designed and so right for the family Arpels, do interesting to see the house design all put together marveilleuse, ( marvellous) formidable, ( Wonderful) the I love the music and having the French conversation and music from the movie is just wonderful in the background of this footage brings back so happy memories of seeing the movie have it on DVD, Jacque Tati's movie magic has everything, style, class, humour but with a touch of poignancy, an uncle who causes chaos and not thought of as a great uncle but the son of the Arpels loves him, a mother who is obsessed with cleaning, a father who does nothing but work has no time for his lonely son who is desperate for attention from both his parents, school kids who joke around, the beautiful scenery of France and a humorous script, this is wonderful watching how a set is transformed to make an iconic very humorous movie, thankyou for sharing.

A wonderful wonderful film. Tati was one of France's national treasures and was treated very badly.

Merci pour cette fabuleuse video qui nous fait revivre tout l'art inventif de notre génial Tati . Trop souvent malmené par l'incompréhension de certains tocards de critiques de son temps !

Great film by France's last great writer/director/actor of 'silent' films,Jacques Tati. he is preocccupied and focuses on architecture. Masterpieces is 'playtime' send up of SOM architecture is Paris in 70's.

According to an article, the designers who recreated the house and furniture had to work by sight, as the original plans no longer exist...

@skylur44, he spent a fortune on making 'Playtime' - DO watch it, building a mini city to do it. They basically made him bankrupt and took the rights to his films.
