Vallee's book "Passport to Magonia" is a must-read for anyone interested in understanding UFO sightings. He makes a great case that UFOs and their pilots are extra-dimensional and have been visiting us for centuries, or longer. He thinks the entities have an agenda, and it's not benign. He also said they are deceptive and manipulative.

On top of Claude Lacombe in Close Encounters being based on Jacques Vallée, he was also a consultant on the film. At one point, he asked Steven Spielberg (paraphrase, from memory), "Why are you implying that the phenomenon is extraterrestrial? You know that is not what I believe." @@susanmcdonald9088 The documentary doesn’t even get Jung’s ontological model correctly. The phenomena itself isn’t as simple as plasma discharge. When people torture logic epistemically and refuse to look at the existing data on the phenomena this is what we get; a hodgepodge of misinterpreted ideas. Jung was his own kind of idealist; his entire corpus is peppered with idealism. He offered several explications in order to placate to his colleagues while also be completely against their epistemology and stubbornness. Jung had very good reasons to think like this.

I had a great pleasure and honor to talk to him few years ago in San Francisco. You are absolutely right about his description. Time flew like water when we talked. Before I knew it, three hours passed by. Our meeting took place in the restaurant and a big family came to the next table to have some sort of party/reunion. After few minutes they must have noticed who is talking at our table and they fell absolutly silent (even children) listening to the accounts of events at Colares he provided (and which he researched personally). After one hour or so, they gathered they thigs and left, but while walking by, the father of the family took out the phone and snap a picture of him.

In January of 2005, I witnessed a silent black trapezoid shaped object glide directly over my roof. I say "glide" because of the effortless precision in which it moved. I cannot stress that it was completely silent. It had four oddly lustrous amber colored lights embedded in all four of it's corners. I was absolutely transfixed on this thing, and did my best not to blink because I didn't wanna miss a millisecond of what I was witnessing. It moved at an impossibly slow speed. The exterior of the object itself was black, but seemed to have a glow to it. It was about the size of a room. Time itself felt strange. It felt like only I & this object existed until it eventually got out of my sight. That night, I experienced an unnerving episode of sleep paralysis that I won't go into. The silence of this thing and the rich, yet dim tone of the amber colored lights haunts me to this day. It had absolutely no visible means of propulsion, or anything like wings or propellers. A part of me regrets the whole experience, because it left me with more questions than answers. I will never forget it for the rest of my life.

I’ve also been wanting to read Passport to Magonia for a while now, and I think this video seals the deal for me. I, like Vallée, tend to lean towards the inter-dimensional hypothesis. So I am into spirituality and I also watch a lot of videos on people who’ve had Near Death Experiences, mediums, people that channel and so on and some that have experienced what they call alien contact do say that some are beings from other dimensions, not apart of this universe, some apparently are even from our galaxy or even solar system. NDErs also say that we do experience reincarnation and can have lives in multiple dimensions not just this one. So maybe it is a mix as the previous comment said. Life is this huge puzzle, we have to look everywhere because everything is connected. ufologists should study these people as well because there could be some answers there too.

Hi, I'm also a big Jacques Vallee fan, have read almost everything he has published (including some of his novels). I don't know if you have followed the recent happenings with Dr.Vallee. In Dec 2020 he appeared on Joe Rogan and spoke openly of his upcoming book, 'The Best kept Secret' that was supposed to contain revelations and data that, in Vallee's words, "would have changed the history of ufology". At the time the book had an amazon page were you could visualize a cover and a release date of May 4th 2021. However, a few weeks before the release the page disappeared and a little later, the release was announced with a slightly different tittle "Trinity : The Best Kept Secret" a new cover and a never mentioned before, co-author Paola Leopizzi Harris. Harris has also been in the field for some time, but has been very involved with the new age, and her research is on a completely different level to that of Dr.Vallee. I was so disappointed by the whole thing that I didn't buy the book, but from what I understand it deals with an alleged UFO crash, corroborated just with some witness' testimony. I'm pretty sure that that doesn't fall into "what would change the history of ufology" for Dr.Vallee's standards. Also the choice of the co-author is very suspect. Adding to all this, strangely, Dr.Vallee only did a couple interviews regarding the book on minor channels, and went completely silent after that. My personal opinion is that for some reason, he was asked or pressured not to release the book and the quickly went on to add his name to somebody's else book, that was also set to be released around the same period. Honestly, I am baffled by the whole thing and have somewhat lost trust in Dr.Vallee's integrity. Sorry for the long message but would love to hear the opinion of someone else who has been following Vallee's work for a long time and knows very well the exceptionally high standards he has set for himself and his research. ​@@veilofreality If you read Trinty, which I recommend, you will find out that this italian lady, Paola Leopizzi Harris, was the first one who discovered this case and have access to the witnesses and I guess that's why Vallee went this way. The book is written from his point of view and didn't disappoint. I have no idea if "The best kept secret" suppose to be other book, but I don't think so. After you read Trinity you will realize why. If you haven't read it already, I strongly recommend "American Cosmic" by Diana Pasulka. She was guided by Vallee in her research. That book blew my mind and make me think about religion/ufo phenomenon from a different perspective. It was a revelation from my point of view, it's fascinating and she didn't make any money from it, as it was published by the Oxford University Press. Please, don't excuse yourself for "a long message", it's a pleasure for me to interact with people driven by the same goal, to peek behind the veils of hidden reality. ;-)

I was excited by the release of Trinity, but very disappointed by the negative reviews. I find Vallee’s analysis of the Trinity craft and 2 similar cases around the same time; right after the Trinity test of the detonation of the first atomic bomb (and at the same location) as well as the 2 subsequent bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki having the same dimensions and shape of these atomic bombs not being a coincidence. As a experiencer I agree with your expressed Valle' Information. I have always believed 2 things about my experience. 1 the visage I experienced was not real. 2 the "being" I saw was not a real representation of it. Plus my experience does not fit any available "visit". -I know it was most likely all a imprint within my mind. I do not share it ever. Here I feel anonymous. I do know we are not following the logical clues. Sadly, Valle' is apart of the manipulated culture. These beings/ consciousness certainly can follow and add his new views into the manipulated culture. -We are a group which gravitates towards each other. We have core beliefs which create our small communities within the whole. But we are still very much more like our ape ancestors than we are willing to admit or grasp as a species. Our stories say we are worth saving and even though we kill millions of people off with our own hands. Our art and culture do not prove we can lift ourselves above our violence. Between the rising temperature and our violent nature I believe a group of our species will attempt to kill off billions of people to lower the temperature... This will fail along with our species. This is not a message I received, it is a logical process I believe has merit... Are we really that astute? Astute enough to choose clean energy over creature comforts.... Man, vallee was ahead of his time! Even after persecution from the same community he was a part of, and pushback from the government, he stayed steadfast in his beliefs. He is the ultimate authority in the Fortean/ufo field, in my opinion. Nobody is an expert in this field, but he would be as close to one as it gets. The thing is... why do anomalous encounters need to be grouped together and explained through a unifying theory? It seems there is room enough, in an infinitity of existence, for nuts and bolts physical aliens from outer space, ghosts, pixies, demons, inter/extra dimensional entities, parallel universes and so on all to be quite separate things... some might be affecting human development deliberately or by happenstance... but does that mean it must all come from one source? 🤔

I can see why Jacques isn't taken seriously. He gives much conjecture and theory but no substance or proof. The only thing I agree with is that that the eyewitness account of the unknown beings/aliens whatever revealing their locations in space is consistently nonsensical and varies wildly as if these beings can get their stories straight. It begs the question of their motivation and honesty in the interaction with human beings. I think we have a lot to learn on who and what these unknown beings are and what their true motivation is but until one is caught or comes forth publicly, everything is just theory, speculation and conjecture. I plan on living life normally until then.

If you look at this from a intersection with Christian belief, demons want nothing more than to take people away from faith in God and their relationship with the Ultimate Source, right? So if they can project something so convincing that it manipulates people to believe something that diverts them ANYWHERE away from looking for God or staying with God, then they’d be successful. The thing is, though, is that while powerful, they’re not infallible and we still have strong perceptive abilities and many have been able to see right through the illusions. Take that however you will. I know that’s filtered through my own worldview, but it makes sense to me. I think religion has just been a way to communicate something greater than our ability to fully understand a higher reality that has power over us, like something in 3D exerts power over a 2D image (an artist dictates a painting), I think we are the equivalent of the painting, and they are the artists and the appreciators and editors of the art, if that makes sense.
