Wow, this is super inspiring! I'm a filmmaker who has freshly graduated from college back in May and am finding that, while there are plenty of resources for learning technical skills, there's not a lot of guidance out there for how to lead a career in this industry, at least from what I've seen. Love the positivity! At the beginning of my career Vimeo was the place to go to watch amazing short films and to be inspired. Back then it was a hub for filmmakers to comment and discuss processes, gear, lighting etc.. It was rare to see any negativity, works were celebrated for all the amazing talent that is out there. Now with instagram, tiktok etc... I feel like the algorithms have changed the way people watch from being inspired to feeling fomo. Stop scrolling and get out there and shoot! (I realize that this is ironic as I write this while scrolling socials haha)

Haha I couldn't agree more mate! It was my number #1 source of inspiration and I used to spend so much time on there for exactly those reasons. The fomo thing is real though, I try to abstain from watching short form content because it has the ability to make me feel like I'm not doing enough! What a great video... again. Yes, it shouldn't be about comparison, but rather inspiration always. For example your videos and your work in general always inspire me a lot. Like today. We were shooting one video portrait with a great model and I tried for example some of those shots you recommended here in some of your videos. With my own approach to them and even the model loved those shots immediately. It's a dream for me to work once with you on some project. But before then... a lot of work in the front of me 😀💯
