Every pro audio forum: "KRK Rokits are garbage" ... "If you get 5 inch monitors, you HAVE to have a sub to mix" Jacquire: "I mixed a Grammy-winning song on gen 1 KRK Rokit 5s with no sub"

Well, you are so right. I had the great pleasure of attending a webinar with him on how to make an EP last year through Graham from Recording Revolution which was supposed to be sort of 3-hour long or so. It went on for close to 9 hours! With him giving it all and repeatedly saying: 'This isn't over until it's over.' or something like that, answering all the questions in detail. being open, etc. I've hardly ever seen such a level of commitment and humility at the same time. Although, in my experience, this is a trait of real talents and professionals - at least those I met - which goes beyond the I-gotta-play-nice attitude with the audience or interviewer.
I had the pleasure of working on the Citizen King record and another unreleased project with Jacquire , he was an amazing mentor. Both him and Eric Valentine I would still drop everything and work for either of them. Real Engineers.

This was one of the coolest and most informative interviews I've ever heard on music production. Jacquire is an amazingly humble and transparent music production expert, would love to sit in the corner for a year, say nothing and just learn. Thanks a million for this!

Ahh, those interviews are better than any movie I can think of. Thanks again Warren for another trip to a beatiful place! Jacquire is such a lovely guy. mule variatons was my first real tom waits moment. Absolutely fantastic record. I still remember the first time I heard "take it With me." I had no Choice but to surrender to the tears. Very few songs have moved me like that one. It must have been quite the experience to be a part of the making of that record.

Hello Warren, don't know if you will read this but thank you so much for these videos! Your studio tour and interviews are so helpful, talking about things that apply to the real world instead of just gadgets and another piece of gear that you need. The insight you and your guests provide are sometimes "WAAAAAAY" more helpful than any mixing lesson. It's wonderful to hear how the professionals deal with people and how they approach recording. Thank you again!

This is the stuff :D and in-depth! You deserve awards, i mean that, for giving again and again to a community where only 2 decades ago it was a real struggle to find good and solid information, and 3 decades ago close to impossible. Besides, perfect for procrastinating while your songwriting ideas don't get past the 16 bar loop and your daw is giving you stupid looks.

This made my ears stand up, when you commented on Eric Valentine's EQ'ing skills, I thought 'hell yeah I'd been saying that for years, him and Jacquire kIng'. So I was blown away when I heard in this vid that these two kats had worked together. Wonder if that is why I had formed my opinion? In terms of who we can have next, I think Randy Staub really needs to become a PLAPER! I reckon Ross Robinson would be great too. Can we manage Quincy??? Teddy Riley!!!

Mixed a great local band called "Dog Heaven" and the drummer had a 3" x 13" hammered brass snare that was like the report of a large caliber rifle. I was never able to run the snare through the PA in the small venues and literally had to mix around the snare drum stage volume every night. Huge learning experience, and like these great studio guys, I learned I'd much rather perform or record and leave FOH/monitors to people that really like doing live sound.
