There is def something going on. Women deserve independence, but I think there is something going on in relationships now that I have been noticing that is changing the dynamic of things. Some women are very understanding and loyal (as I try to be) other women will drop you at the slightest hint of what they perceive as a transgression. Why? Because some are "broken" or "went through a dark time" (as I've been told by these women) and they are chasing thrills/shiny objects. In their heart they do not care about building a foundation of love or building a family, per their actions.
