He's one of the few rappers out that I truly respect and fuck with their music. Along with his label mates Kendrick of course and Ab Soul is tough, J Cole is my favorite rapper in the game, Currensy has been dope for a while, Big K.R.I.T is probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite rapper in the game, and Logic is sick as fuck too. I feel like Yonkers, Mt. Vernon, and New Rochelle are basically just an extension of NYC. You could say the same about the urban part of north Jersey, like Jersey City, Newark, Patterson, etc. Yonkers really isn't upstate. It borders the bronx, on the north.

Those are suburbs of NYC so it's apart of the NYC metro area that's why they have trains like the Metro North ( Westchester) , Path ( North Jersey) , NJ Transit ( Central Jersey ) that take you Downtown they are extensions of the main city and Yonkers is up Broadway you can literally drive up to Yonkers from Times Square

@@mikeycrump8838 I grew up in The Bronx in walking distance of Yonkers although it's not in the City Proper this part of Yonkers in particular is just a extension of NYC were there taping is just blocks north of 263rd at the NYC border. Interesting fact is that when New York City was forming in 1898 Yonkers and Mount Vernon both voted not to join New York City along with the other boroughs. Yonkers was very close to becoming the sixth borough.

Was born in Yonkers but moved away to another state early on. True story, my pops took me back to the old hood back in 2003 on a trip. Jada has always been my favorite rapper so I used to think I would see him there when we went but that was a pipedream right? There’s no way he’d be there when we did a short tour around that day where my mother and father lived. I’d never toured Yonkers with him so this was the first time. Well, no joke, at the building outside just my pops and I, my pops showing me” yo, this is the building me and moms was at, I used to work at (some place near by as a counselor) and son this where I used to ball at next door, it’s one of the reasons I picked this apartment”. At that moment I see a group of dudes playing about 20 or so on that very court. Wouldn’t you know…..I hear a voice talking all kinds a shit playing basketball. The voice is undeniable. I get closer to the fence and look closely down at people playing. It’s kiss 😅😅😅😅😅. I’m just at the fence watching him in amazement how he’s just another dude on the block. He’s up and down the court playing, nothing special at basketball but he didn’t give a damn, the mf was trash talking and just having fun playing…….That shit was crazy.

This was a treat! I know nothing of rap or hip hop and don't know who this man is, but I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the old places again. I grew up in Schlobohm Apts which you can see if you are standing on Palisades Ave just off Getty Square and look down.- It may have been a tough neighborhood in retrospect, but we had built in friends. On a Saturday morning you just walk outside and - just like that - all your friends are there. It was always fun. We were black, white and of the white, we had mostly Irish or first generation Americans. Growing up like that, you never see color, you see people, good or bad. That was your judgement. If they were good, they were cool. If bad, no one wanted to bother with them. What he said about everyone having a hand at guiding kids to do the right thing, that is very much the truth. I'm white, but my black friends' moms used to discipline ALL of us if we were rude, acting up, etc. They didn't care whose kid you were - you got scolded and, in some cases, hit - but it was never abuse. It was correction. We all came out OK in the end. I like to think they had something to do with it. And the other good thing is - there you made friends for LIFE. I've long since moved away from there, as had my friends, but we are still close all these years later, still on the phone. Still visiting one another. We used to think we were unfortunate growing up in a place like South Yonkers because we were poor - but in retrospect, we were really rich. Money isn't everything. We formed family that is still going strong. That's the best thing about growing up in the ghetto, or the high rise or the projects. You make friends for life. I've returned to Schlobohm several times to visit since, most recently 2 year ago - and to my sadness, I saw not one child out on the streets playing on such a beautiful sunny summer day. I sat on the old door steps of Building #3 where I grew up and talked with one woman who had also been sitting there - and she said that kids stay in now. It's a different generation. It was vibrant then, but drugs ruined everything.

They dropped literally 3 my top 5 Jada tracks in the background on here the first three background tracks. They just needed that "Still Feel Me" and "Big Dogg Status"

@coopersepulveda98723 жыл бұрын
@@patcom7085 That track is called "The Essence" or at least the mixtape i had that is what the title was. I think that might technically be al Alchemist track thou but i could be wrong. Thats the tack where he say "Keep it with me cuz possession 9 10ths of the law" I never liked that track tbh
