Suggestion From A Current 3rd Year Student of Jadavpur University, Civil Engineering Department -- if you get any branch in Jadavpur University (except pharma and architecture) , go for it. Trust me - -you would get so much opportunities in terms of industrial internships, research internships as well as various State and Central Gov.s units (PSUs), Banks, Tons of IT , Buiseness analytics companies visit the campus each and evey year. Apart from that lots of productive technical events, scope for abroad study programs (fully funded) would make you satisfied from bottom of your heart. Thanks.

Agreed, many people think that JU is all about CSE and IT, but it is a deadly misconception, all the departments are equally good. In fact, in the best of my best belief, electrical, mechanical and civil departments are in fact, a bit better than IT, maybe not in terms of average package but in terms of overall exposure.

I study in Jadavpur Vidyapith, a school inside the campus of JU. Campus of JU is beautiful. Engineering , specially CSE is magnificent here. The only problem is that students of JU, specially students of Humanities are participating in different different political protests almost everyday. Many students smoke, drink and so on. But if you can keep away yourself from addiction and 'movements' that are happening everyday, you would have a glorious University life, and a glorious job ahead. Edit: deadline of filling the form of WBJEE has already passed. Edit 2 (10-06-2023): Got 1055 rank in WBJEE 2023. Considering Mechanical Engineering in Jadavpur University.

I don't know why I cant love Jadavpur. No hate but its an personal opinion. A fear works for me for this college. I would prefer a NIT over this.
