I’m so glad these conversations are so open and graphic. I had some serious self esteem issues about my vulva anatomy that I’m still working on. The majority of my exposure was from porn and I thought that mine was “ugly” and “wrong” because I was comparing it to theirs. Thank you ❤❤❤

The sex vs gender conversation is so important. I feel like some of us have tried to so hard to be inclusive that we've accidentally come back around to homophobia again. The people asking for my girlfriend's pronouns based on her outfit are not really all that different from the people calling her "sir" in the grocery store. It's all about what you think female vs male "should" look like and putting us in tiny gender boxes.

@@spacebaby125 It feels homophobic to her, it feels like people are saying "you don't look like a woman, so what are you?" meanwhile no one is asking my pronouns. how is that not just based on sexist stereotypes?
@spacebaby125
@spacebaby125 10 ай бұрын
@@bilong92 sounds like your gf has insecurities that aren’t really anyone else’s problem. If someone is more androgynous people might ask about pronouns but that’s not due to gender stereotypes that’s because people see someone who might be trying to express themself outside the binary and asking about pronouns is meant as an inclusive gesture. It is not homophobic, nor transphobic for that matter. Seeing as those are two different things and you used the wrong term here. We have not circled back. We are learning. Obvi the goal is to ask everyone their pronouns regardless of what they look like. We just aren’t there yet.

i like that ashley said she hates when people they/them her. bc like... some people just dont get it and then severely over correct. like you don't have to they/them everyone. just ask what someone's pronouns are if you dont know. pronouns are not as hard as people act like they are. some people overcorrect to the point of it coming back around to offensive. like if you're they-ing a trans person bc they look gnc and they have specifically told you "im a he" or "im a she" or whatever other pronouns then you're still misgendering. it goes both ways. also pronouns do not equal gender but that's besides the point.
@spacebaby125
@spacebaby125 10 ай бұрын
this! they/them are safe pronouns to use to refer to someone when you haven't had the opportunity to ask but asking is so important! it's definitely a thing to misgender people with they/them pronouns and more people should know and remember that.

From the 3 paragraph Bisexual Manifesto (1990): "Do not assume that bisexuality is binary or dougamous in nature; that we must have “two” sides or that we must be involved simultaneously with both genders to be fulfilled human beings. In fact, don’t assume that there are only two genders" Whereas pansexual is: "sexually or romantically attracted to people regardless of their sex or gender", honestly, very similar to Bisexual. I almost feel that bc Bi has become synonymous with cute women who have threesomes, that pansexual was born to differentiate as a "queerer" alternative bc popular culture perverted what Bisexuals were truly about

I was with you until that last part. Honestly, popular culture will always put weird shit onto any label, but I think it's still what we make of it. We can always reclaim these terms rather than be defined by what society says.

But colloquially it means people who're considered ethnic minorities. Idk whether people find it offensive for any reason, but its a thing. Sure, everyone has an ethnicity, but some people don't feel ethnic or ever really have to think about ethnicity because their culture is perceived as the default

love the vid but hate the part where Jade was like "are you non binary or are you just a woman with facial hair?" like please shut up. That is such an invalidating and micro aggressive question to ask someone. Let them figure it out. It's especially awful to say that to an afab transmasc person. And to tell someone who identifies as masc that they're not masc is invalidating as well. Not all of masculinity needs to look one certain way just let people live Jesus Christ.

To anyone unclear about what the diff btwn bi & pan is >> To many, pan is othering to trans ppl. I personally thought it wasn't & claimed to be pan until I had a personal realization of the meanings. Pan is basically saying that trans ppl are a diff gender by saying its about loving women, men AND anyone else. Trans women are women & trans men are men. I know not everyone in the "community" believes this, but I've chosen to go back to saying I'm bi because of this realization. Just my 2 cents. 🤷🏻‍♀️💜☮️

@@pikameer8325 Everyone can have their own opinions & that's yours.. Also, I didn't come to this realization by myself. I spoke to many in this community & researched a lot about it. I live it as well. So, its not coming just from my own mind.
