My very first jade plant died due to my inexperience, it was a small cutting and I had just begun my succulent journey. I now have a Gollum and a variegated jade which are both 5 years old with 2 inch thick trunks.

I have tried to propagate jade plant leaves for years and every time they die of rot, even big thick and plump leaves.

Have you tried to propagate with cuttings? Leave them for a while after taking them,so they callus at the cut, then pot them. You can grow from a single leaf, it just takes a lot longer!

@@ProgressiveDiscussions I don't think I did mist them, just kept the soil barely damp. I've got a plant that's nearly 18" tall that took 2 years to grow from a single leaf. Also another one that's a bit smaller that is only a bit over a year old, that was from a fairly big cutting. They're so beautiful - the colour is different depending on how much sunlight they get. Ah, so what I’ve been doing wrong is over watering. Classic
