I feel like jade really wants to be close with tori but if she becomes freinds with the popular cool girl it makes her seem more normal. I think the reason she is so uptight is because she doesn't want anyone to have the opportunity to hurt her. @@youresogolden176 It was back in the old days, homophobic conservative parents would've gone mad. Today shows are being more open towards same sex relationships, but still are pretty far from being clear about it. There was this show Andy Mack or smth where one boy in the main cast actually liked the main character which was a boy and admitted in on screen, then for the rest of the show he bonds with another boy and by the end they're obviously boyfriends but they don't show them kiss. I forgot their names but I loved their story. But yeah. It's pretty hard to be so clear about it in shows, maybe later once the current generations become parents they will be more explicit since there won't be as much homophobes (though sadly kids shows have already stopped being good and we may not get any better ones in the futures)

But it seems to me that they got to Tori & Jade's Playdate and then laid off. There was even supposed to be a kiss in that episode that got taken out before shooting. I’m just saying if this wasn’t a kid’s show they would totally be together. “But they’re literally enemies!” Hmm let’s review. Cazzie, Clexa, Avalance, all the big famous lesbian ships now all started out with the leads as enemies. Casey and Izzie, hated each other until turning point. Clarke and Lexa were very literally enemies until they fell in love. Ava and Sara were always working against each other until they finally managed to get past their pride and be together. Well I think Jori fits the criteria pretty well. Polar opposites are enemies. However, when you read into the details, you see that Beck and Tori are the only ones who can control Jade. Jade only lets Tori touch her. Jade went to Tori when she was sad or broken. Jade and Tori have this unbelievable chemistry and tension it’s absolutely insane. In fact, there’s an explanation for why Jade was so mean to Tori. She was closeted and had internalized homophobia so she was mean to Tori because she didn’t want other ppl to even begin to suspect that she liked Tori. She had a toxic boyfriend, and she was probably abandoned a lot as a kid so I can see why she kept clinging onto him even though you could tell they should’ve broken up such a long time ago. And Tori? Well Tori is constantly seeking Jade’s approval, trying to get Jade to praise her or be her friend. And we see that throughout the show, they progressed, they worked together better, and literally they read each other so well. They also just work. The level of chemistry, the setting, the context, all the buildup, everything just works. Edit: when she says “I can’t do that to a friend. Or even you.” You see her look up and softly smile and you can tell she means it, you can tell she sees Tori as someone she trusts and admires but she would never admit that out loud.

I also love the fact that whenever they sing they’re happy, smiling and have love in their eyes. ok I’m one of those weirdos who make a backstory for characters sooo here’s Jade’s.... Jade’s mom died when she was 3, Jade had a older brother but did sucide when jade was 5. Jade’s dad started drinking and became a alcoholic and abused her daily, the were also poor and broke, she would always act like it’s alright even though it wasn’t and she would sing all the time to attempt to be happy, and remind her of the happy 3 years with her mom alive and around. When she met Beck he was the first person Jade let in. She was always so jealous when Beck talked to other girls because of so many times she’s been hurt before, and when she saw Tori and Beck together she thought of Tori as a threat to her and Beck’s relationship. Jade is best friends with Cat because Cat is too innocent and kind to hurt her again . Jade was always jealous of Tori because, Tori was rich, she had a sibling who was alive, she was popular, pretty, her parents care about her. Tori has it all and Jade got nothing. When Jade and Beck were together she was at her highest point, she would always smile and be happy, when Jade and Beck weren’t together she was at her worst stage ever, her dads abuse got worse and they lost there home and moved into an apartment. Jade got the piercings and hair dye, and be mean and rude, so she would stand out, so people would be scared of her and won’t hurt her... so she hurt them... Jades mom loved the performing arts and would always sing to Jade when she was younger so she loved singing to make her mom proud. Jade worked all the time 24/7 to afford her education at Hollywood Arts. Beck was the only one who could calm her down without hurting her again. Beck and Cat were the only people who knew about her childhood, her mom, her drunk dad and her pain [𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙨 𝙤𝙠] and that was Jade West’s life. I hope you enjoyed :)
