You can definitely bargain shop! I was so worried about having to buy everything. I spent around 400 including buying the mini fridge. I know it’s not cheap but there are somethings that are definitely not necessary for everyone like extra furniture.

Was a freshman last year. Idk about y’all but sometimes tide pods weren’t my fav. they would get stuck in the opening of the washing machine or it wouldn’t melt. Also my clothes don’t smell as good compared to at home cause the dryer makes everything smell like burnt clothes lol. So if ur dorm doesn’t have an elevator, I think tide pods are for u cause they are convenient. But if u have an elevator, find a wheel hamper and you can carry the detergent and softener with little effort!

this is the first like mostly reasonable dorm haul that I've seen, a bit much on the pillows and plants but other than that this is pretty good to go off of. i def suggest getting a big fan if you have a dorm that doesn't have AC because it saved me (for hot places that is)

im moving into my dorm around sept 4 and i love this video!! also i recommend getting a mesh caddy because i heard that the plastic ones grow mold over time (the mesh one u can just hang up and dry) but i love this vid sooo much

Future tip: Tide pods are bad for the environment and for the dryer, I recommend the detergent that you can pour in a cup or pump out with a spout 🙃

I don't know why I'm watching, cause I'm German, we don't even really have dorms like in the US, and I'm in my last year of college and living with my parents, BUT what baffled my were the container sizes. Like when you said "I got this small thing of dish soap".. For me, that is a regular sized bottle. Small in Germany would be like the size of your hand sanitizer bottle or smth 😅

@@lucylucky9430 This is my first year, but I don't think it will be super difficult for me because I tend to be super friendly! The hardest thing is probably going to be enforcing the no visitation rule that our college is doing rn :/ & it will probably be a bit difficult to adapt to having zoom floor meetings but I'm sure it will be a blast! There is also a good amount of paperwork especially for freshmen RA's :) But honestly all RA's I know at BU right now are super chill & caring so it'll be a good year even with all the paper work lol

Make sure you guys have a great foundation of communication and honesty, these are key in any relationship but even more so in a ldr! Also, make sure to set a time everyday, besides from talking to each other throughout, to catch up on each others day, feelings, and etc. My boyfriend and I make sure to video call every night and this has really helped us! And make sure you guys communicate on everything! Especially if you feel like there's an issue or if there is something on your mind. Don't be too afraid of hurting your significant other's feeling about these feelings or thoughts as it hurts more if you keep it in and let it boil, I found that its best to get it out of the way immediately! I wish you guys the best and don't listen to anyone else saying that long distance doesn't work because it definitely does with the right foundation and mind set :)

I only saw my boyf every other weekend and sometimes longer and that was when I could have overnight guests at school. This year will be tough. We FaceTimed several times a day when we could and consistently communicated to have the same sort of feeling as if he was next to me!

Fatima Ibrahim well basically in England when you’re 16 you go into sixth form/college for 2 years but it’s not the same as American college. You get an A level qualification not a degree. Then afterwards you can start work or go to university to get a degree

I would recommend creating a list of supplies you and your roommates will need and putting it on a shared google doc account! That way everyone can fill in what they will be bringing and people will see what is still needed :)
