How brilliant a design! I loved every minute- to see how it all developed. It’s so organic, just flows and grows, one thing from another, yet guided, like a well tended garden. I did some paint pouring awhile back and used these metallics plus silver and loved that combo. This is just fabulous!

I think I’d either add a thickener or maybe try rich espresso or something. I’m worried a thickener might change the color… I’m not sure. This copper is one of my absolute favorites but it’s plain old too thin.

I think it’s personal preference but I prefer canvas. I’d say if you really sanded and prepped wood to be smooth then it would win. The smoother the surface wins for me. Canvas is not that smooth either because of the woven surface but I really like dotting on it. I also liked doing it on wood but the grain and absorbent tendencies had its way with me. So if properly prepped it would be best but that doesn’t sound like fun 😂😂😂 I have several projects with wood to do. Maybe I’ll film one.

Are you using any medium with these metallics or water to get the consistency, so the paint does not run??? Could you tell us the ratios of paint to water or medium you use?? Or the approximation of the ratios?

Nope… I’m using them straight out of the bottle. Sometimes I thin paint with liquitex flow aid. You mix that with water like directions on bottle.. then I’ll add drops until it’s a consistency of say… egg yolk? If it’s too thin I just try to be careful.

Awesome!!! The Treasure gold line is perfect consistency… however, lol, the folk art copper is very thin. You might chose a different brand but this color is one of my favs so I thought I’d try it. I don’t have the treasure gold copper or another but I’m working on the collection.

Lol.. I feel ya!!! Hi Thank you for watching. I didn’t have a compass big enough to make those circles so here’s what I did 😉 I took a piece of that flexible cutting board they sell so cheap and I cut a strip of it. I used my awl to poke holes in it every 1 cm. That’s all. I describe it better in my first canvas tutorial. That’s how I’ve always been with hobbies. It’s like once you get the idea or master it then it gets boring. Mandala painting is my first ever one to stick. It’s like impossible to master and there’s always a new variable in the mix. It’s also extremely therapeutic. I’m not sure I’d have made through my hard times without it. It’s a a moment of release where you can literally stop thinking about the troubles and focus on the dot. Mostly… it’s just fun and pretty 😍 I just started gardening too. I think that one might stick too.
