That's exciting. One year about 9 years ago. We were big into Decorations on the the front Yard.. and we made the front Page. That was exciting. All that Work , was worth it. And we Got so many trick, treaters From then on. We even had people Stopping and letting us know They were told about it. And From From different small towns. When we quit doing it. I had to Work all the time. So that's Why we quit. I had people Let us know, they would come And help set it up. They were Sad we quit. Now our health Is bad. And I still have the decore. If I could again . I would. Those times are my favorite Memories.

OMG! My mom had that same cackling witch! We don't have it anymore, but I still have her dracula that moves in the same fashion with a light up skull. It terrified me. Now he is my favorite decoration to put up every year. She loved Halloween too, so I always think of her this time of year 💜

Halloween may be the spookiest holiday but you could spookify any holiday if you really wanted! Also my mother has amazing Halloween decorations I think she got at Aims when that old store was around! I know a lot of people have said this but they just don't make decorations like they used to and it makes me so sad!

Last night I worked on an apron I'm making from all the cute Halloween fabrics that I always want to use and never know what for. So I'm making an apron out of as many as I can so that I can have one that doesn't tie around the back of the neck because that drives me crazy feeling it there. While I did that I watched some of my favorite movies that no one else much likes, like The Uninvited and Death Takes a Holiday. I can't handle gore so I like old black and white movies. We went to the church trunk or treat tonight. I already had everything I needed to be a kind of scrap witch... a vest with buttons all over it, a faux corset skirt, a shiny purple blouse, red combat boots, grey and black striped long socks and a curly black and orange straw witch's hat. I threw on some of my weirder jewelry and carried around a light-up Zero prop I made last year. My oldest daughter is 24 and dressed like the neighborhood watch guy... black morph suit, black trenchcoat and black fedora. It was pretty hilarious. The 16-year-old had less success... she tried dressing up as Max Denison but no one knew who she was even though she had a metal lighter and a pin that read "I lit the black flame candle." My older daughter's friend came along in a Stitch onesie, always a win. And the car was dressed in our old space monster drapery where the kids have to reach into the mouth for treats... but the neighborhood watch guy was hiding in the trunk and handing them the candy and making creepy sounds. We started doing this because there's always some little stinker who nearly wrecks the display swatting at it and my daughter wanted it to fight back.

I enjoy the spooky/Fall season leading up to Halloween more than the day itself, the anticipation! I went to Target last night and can't believe all the holiday stuff is out already like the cereals, creamers, Pillsbury Cookies, the $1 spot is now Christmas stuff, etc., I'm just not ready lol.

If youdon't jump on the Christmas decor in October you will miss the thimgs you really want! We start Halloween shopping in June people, lol. We shop 4 1/2 months early for Halloween so 2 months ahead of Christmas shouldn't be disturbing. It is to me too tho. Your Mom's Halloween decorations are fun. Your lil sweetie Meens is so sweet. I have a BIG dog Draco who acts like her. He was not loved or cared for before I rescued him, so it breaks your heart when you know every time you leave some feel you won't come back to them.

I'm feeling the melancholy approaching, our birthday month and the whole exciting day by day anticipation to Halloween is coming to a close, such a mix of a emotions every year when this happens. I am not freaked out about your At Home Christmas Haunting, LOL! I hope you post about it! One of my closest & dearest friends holds a movie event at her house whatever Sunday falls before Halloween. It starts around midday and it's all family friendly movies up until 5pm and the the more adult/less than kid friendly movies start. She make a bunch of yummy seasonal foods and we bring things and we just get cozy on her big comfy couches with blankets & pillows and eat and watch. I’m doing an annual witches den at my moms- I usually decorate her garage- think I’m doing just the yard/driveway this year with a smaller table display instead. I’ve got some major knee issues so maybe I’ll go all out next year. We’ll see lol. I always wanted one of those houses with the haunted house when I was little and I’m livin the dream at moms 😂 she’s got 1k kids/year trick or treating.
