Yes....pillow cases!!!! I grew up in the 60’s and those little halloween buckets were ridiculous...we were all about the pillow cases and going home and sorting our candy into piles. Best night of the year. By the way I am a conservative 65 year old great granny and I LOVE your channel!!!! If my granddaughter grows up to be the same type of lady ghoul like you I will be happy. Love Halloween decor hunting with you, but also super excited to move on to DIYs and all the other spooky videos! Also, I made enchiladas last night after watching your video and they were amaaazing! I’ve been stuck inside ever since the pandemic hit because I’ve been pregnant this whole time and knew he’s due late October and we were so excited because we love Halloween! Hey ghoul heyyyyy!!! So guess what ... I FOUND THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN! He was at TJ Maxx and there was only one and he was shoved up under a shelf. I think someone was hiding him but he's mine now MUHUHAHAHAHA! I cant find the cake stand at Target though. Looks like NONE of my stores for a 50mile radius have it so I guess I just missed the boat on that one. Everytime my parents "checked" our candy all our snickers were gone. My mom would be more discreet about taking them but my dad straight out would eat them in front of us. We'd always eat one snickers before going home because we know that once home theyre gonna be gone.

I'm 30 and I'm right there with you about the pillow cases. Out early, out late, filling the pillow case, for sure. My parents weren't super suspicious of candy. I remember our next door neighbor used to make home made treats and put them in those cellophane bags, but they eventually stopped because people stopped accepting them. That was a sad day. Their candied popcorn balls were legit.

Yes!!! It was all about filling up pillowcases for me!! And I was one to ration all my candy and I got so good at it I'd still have some left over by the time Halloween rolled around the next year, so I always had something to snack on. But tbh, I love using the candy bags they have now as a nice, lightweight purse if I'm running out on a few errands and don't want to bring my actual leather bag.

I have such good memories of roaming our big neighborhood with friends on Halloween and filling up our bag! We always knew what houses gave out the full size candy bars. The jackpot was the house that was the farthest away that gave out king size candy bars. It was always a special time that the whole community participated in. Watching the kids on Stranger Things trick or treat made me so nostalgic. Kids these days don’t get to have the same experience. I do remember the scare of razors/needles in candy. I think that ended the fun of homemade treats.

Growing up in the 90s we totally did the same. My sister and our friends would be out for hours until our pillowcases were full. I have three daughters who have loved trick or treating, but all the neighborhoods around us start turning their lights off at 9. Its crazy! Last year my 8 year old said that was her last year trick or treating and she wants to hand out candy instead.
