Yep I'm 31, almost 32, and I totally remember the razor blade fear! So much nostalgia with the pillow case, I only brought an actual pail out a couple of times. The rest was pillow case 😊 Ahh the good old days!

I have such good memories of roaming our big neighborhood with friends on Halloween and filling up our bag! We always knew what houses gave out the full size candy bars. The jackpot was the house that was the farthest away that gave out king size candy bars. It was always a special time that the whole community participated in. Watching the kids on Stranger Things trick or treat made me so nostalgic. Kids these days don’t get to have the same experience. I do remember the scare of razors/needles in candy. I think that ended the fun of homemade treats.

I’ve been stuck inside ever since the pandemic hit because I’ve been pregnant this whole time and knew he’s due late October and we were so excited because we love Halloween! And I love watching your long videos while I’m stuck inside! These videos also super useful so I don’t have to go out unless there’s something I really really want, limiting my exposure to possible covid. Yes....pillow cases!!!! I grew up in the 60’s and those little halloween buckets were ridiculous...we were all about the pillow cases and going home and sorting our candy into piles. Best night of the year. By the way I am a conservative 65 year old great granny and I LOVE your channel!!!! If my granddaughter grows up to be the same type of lady ghoul like you I will be happy. Love Halloween decor hunting with you, but also super excited to move on to DIYs and all the other spooky videos! Also, I made enchiladas last night after watching your video and they were amaaazing! Then, today my hubby and kids were like let's go look at Halloween stuff. We'll go to as many stores as you want and won't even complain (which is RARE haha). We get home, I warm up my leftover enchiladas, sit down to watch an old video of yours and boom there's a new one. Best day ever!

I'm 30 and I'm right there with you about the pillow cases. Out early, out late, filling the pillow case, for sure. My parents weren't super suspicious of candy. I remember our next door neighbor used to make home made treats and put them in those cellophane bags, but they eventually stopped because people stopped accepting them. That was a sad day. Their candied popcorn balls were legit.

I’m 33 in October. I loved trick or treating as a child but in the UK not many houses got involved, so I never got much candy, but that didn’t bother me as I’ve never been in to sweets, I just loved dressing up.

Yes!!! It was all about filling up pillowcases for me!! And I was one to ration all my candy and I got so good at it I'd still have some left over by the time Halloween rolled around the next year, so I always had something to snack on. But tbh, I love using the candy bags they have now as a nice, lightweight purse if I'm running out on a few errands and don't want to bring my actual leather bag.

I think October 1st is the perfect time to stop the Halloween decor hunting videos and start doing more fun Halloween videos like vlogtober. I would still go in Marshall's and tjmax cuz ive noticed mine never carry entirely the the same stuff. Plus if there's anything specific you're trying to find I usually always fine them where I least expect it. I bought an apothecary bathroom set and I had to buy each piece from a different place but they are all part of the same set. They say right apothecary on the jars and dispensers themselves. It's really cool.

As someone who did the majority of her trick or treating in the mid- to late-90s/early 2000s, I remember they also had the really small trick-or-treat bags, but it was all about the pillowcase. Nothing could beat the pillowcase when you were the only kids who went trick-or-treating on your block.

I saw the Headless Horseman at TJ Maxx about a week ago and I fell in love with him but for some reason did not buy it! I had fun trick or treating as a kid -- just running through the golden leaves , wearing my favorite green sweater, carving pumpkins... it was the best time ever! Later on, Mom and I set up the witches' scene and scared the kids ( but they kept coming back) and the last time I went out trick or treating with my bf (I was a black cat) we gave candy to the homeowners instead and got all sorts of funny reactions. :) I look forward to your decorating and other October/Autumn/Halloween doings -- things you cook up, things you make, just what you are doing enjoying October (the best month of the year). I always feel so alive in Autumn.
