I watched Sancho near his debut sometime in 2017 right when I was just learning about the subtleties of soccer and what makes it so fun to watch. I was watching Dortmund as an American fan, hoping to see Pulisic play and Jadon was subbed on. My jaw dropped when he got the ball. Even then he had bits and pieces of the whole package. Kept things simple and watched the feet of his opponent to dribble them. He reminded me of Messi and my first thought was: "damn Pulisic is never going to get to play now". After a few months went by and he started curling perfect crosses, slide rule passes, and finishing like anyone else on the team could, I just knew. The almost awkward thing is that he is younger than me but still one of the big reasons I'm in love with the game. Hope all goes well for him in the Premier League.

@@sharkr3283 Maybe so. Obviously not in personality but you also might have noticed that he is less aggressive than Neymar as a dribbler. Since his debut, Sancho has matured a lot. Where he might have taken on defenders before, he now passes most of the time. Possibly the Dortmund demos forces him to be a more traditional playmaker rather than a dribbler, but I also think Sancho has more of a passion for finding the open man. Even in his own words, Sancho has said he "doesn't use skills much anymore" and that when he was just starting out at Dortmund he was a little to eager to "show them what he could do". His vision and preference for finding teammates or getting assists makes him seem more like Messi to me but I respect that Sancho has a more similar set of abilities to Neymar, whereas Messi is an extreme version of sticking to the basics and never missing passes//shots. But I think that will come with time for Sancho and he will gradually nudge towards Messi's style and away from Neymar's as he gains experience. (Not saying anything is wrong with Neymar).

Sancho uses his pace wisely for one so young. Almost Messi-esque, which is a good thing. Borussia Dortmund is one of the best clubs in the world, when it comes to developing young players, like Ajax, Benfica, Olympique Lyon. I mean look at the players who have played for BVB ~ Lewandowski, Gotze, Gundogan, Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembele, Christian Pulisic etc. But Sancho has the potential to become BVB's greatest export. If he maintains his current consistency plus his goals and assists output, very soon he will become the Cristiano Ronaldo of the upcoming generation.
