I met Jae in Asheville, NC last month after a show, and she was incredibly sweet. I almost met Gus as well. In fact I was standing maybe 6 inches away from him outside of a bar waiting to get in, but I didn't say hello because he was just sort of vibing with his eyes closed, head bobbing to music that didn't exist outside of his head, and I didn't want to ruin his vibe. Next time!

I had never heard of these guys, until I saw them at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, I got taken there by a few friends. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. One of the weekend highlights! Seeing them at 2 am in an industrial shipping area repurposed for a festival is the ideal setting. It was a RAVE, and I mean that in the real sense of the word. People were lost in the music. Absolutely loved it. See you on your next EU tour!

Awesome interview , the girl interviewing this artist did a great job. Like watching two friend talking, perfect. Yeah this band is incredible , I found them about 2 years ago . The track , "your body is nothing ", Was amazing and the rest of the album was unique and fresh , dark and yes the perfect "sad dance music" I agree , and I found that very Original and deep. I wish boy harsher the best , brilliant beat driven sound with that deep mournful vocal over it is intense. Another 2 piece boy and girl team I love is phantogram. I have boy harsher in my collection next to my minimal and darkwave. Good stuff.

Jae was so right about russian crowds at concerts. We value foreign musicians very much because we rarely get to see live shows, not everyone wants to even come near Russia because of politics. Which is sad because we are just people, we have nothing to do with that and there’s no point in ‘punishing’ us for the stuff our government does by never touring in Russia. I could never dream I would see Boy Harsher live, but when it happened it was a dream come true. Sure some people just travel to Europe for concerts but not everyone can afford it.

I met her in person. She is a huge inspiration for me but the person i counter left me feeling weird it seemed she was not interested in talking to me I asked her how she was and she was very short and that’s ok. Made me realize to not put people in pedestals. We’re all just regular people. Anyways still will enjoy their music.
@MollyMcBooter4 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth Moreno she may have been tired/exhausted, interally struggling with something, maybe even just had an upset stomach. I’m glad you still find her music inspirational though despite not having enjoyed actually meeting her. I only come to her defense in this because I used to play shows years ago and barely anyone knew that I had been taking care of my mom who had been battling cancer for 10 years and stuck in a wheelchair and addicted to opiates after she broke a few bones while on chemo. I rarely only got to go out to play music and was extremely sad inside and worried for mom, going out to play was my only therapy. It turned out someone had went around saying I was a “rude and disrespectful bitch” because he had wanted to chit chat but I cut it off and left because I was depressed and also needed to get back to mom. Sorry for the ramble, i’m just trying to explain we don’t always know what people are going through and shouldn’t take how they behave personally unless they’ve went out of their way to verbally and/or physically assault you..

Well said. It is always healthy to know talented artists are humans just like you and me. ✌🏽💓 That is why groupies’ mentality is dying out. It was pretty pathetic to see people idolizing people in an uncontrollable manner.

I'd rather say the Europeans are less stiff and appreciate Boy Harsher's music more their American audience do. We know and love good electronic music, as it is a significant part of our music history and culture already since the 70ties/80ties starting with Kraftwerk going through Depeche Mode, New Order, you name it. Come back to Frankfurt am Main, Germany again. Your concert in the Zoom Club was unforgetable.

The thing about Europe is that electronic music didnt have this decline in the 90's like it did in the states. In the states, all the post-ndustrial bands fell apart or became "industrial rock." Because of the pressure to emulate grunge. Grunge had a really negative effect on the American music scene. Sure, techno was around, but it was a lot different from dark wave and post-industrial. In Europe however, Grunge didnt come to dominate and bands werent under pressure to go in a guiatr heavy direction. Plus, electronic music was always more popular in Europe. Also, Hip Hop didnt really catch on in Europe either. Thankfully, we never saw awful "rap rock," abominations like Limp Bizkit or Korn over there. The 2nd half of the 90's and the 00's in American music was a real low point imho. Not until the 2010's, thanks to social media like KZbin did we see real artists become popular again.

for sure it is surreal - a russian audience singing to the lyrics of boy harsher - why don't the american sing the lyrics?? are they more superficial? she says they are more accustomed to live shows and bands of all sorts playing ... that is true for sure .... but there must be something else ... but i don't know

Confidence can change a person...imagine her with no confidence and down on herself and life...she wouldnt even look the same..and youd be heeellll no! haha myself I like the females who are all that perfect and not trying to look like some model...the ones that are to themselves and kind of nerdy sorta..I'd talk to first for sure...they usually end up freaky deaky ;) and one more thing is she obviously has a brain that works like it's suppse to...a women with one of those..even a little more advanced that usual like her is hard to find...and of course it could be that dont get out near enough to know haha
