Great videos! I was in China in August for two months and while I was there I had the chance to see all the amazing EV cars by BYD and Zeekr and Im hoping Zeekr come here soon. If not then I will either resort to buying a BYD, Jaecoo or MG. Also live here in Paerata so no doubt I will buy from your team.

Excellent review thanks Jerry. Love the looks and ability of this vehicle, seems that all high spec new vehicles now have relatively intrusive safety features so the ability to 'control' those features each time you drive the vehicle without having to troll through menus becomes quite important. Now I'm looking for a highway travel review of the J7 - what's it like on a reasonably long trip of 500km or so and how is the fuel economy ? Have seen some interesting off road reviews from Malaysia where they really put the J7 to the test and it looks brilliant ! Seems to me that the huge infotainment display would benefit from being able to be rotated so its not so prominent and may help to solve your driver aircon issue, I'll test drive a J7, Tank 300 and a few hybrids like the Niro etc and see which suits me as I'm looking to buy 2 new vehicles, one for day to day and one for off road as I'm a keen hunter so maybe a J7 plus Jimny or a Tank 300 plus hybrid or combination that makes sense. Only reason I'm considering the J7 is that the EX+ with AWD seems like a great value vehicle compared to the competition. Having said all that, as a 73 year old driver who started at the age of 15 driving a series one Landrover the evolution of motor vehicles impresses me very much, it's great to have so many good value options !

yes, view out the rear is VERY limited. I see this as a safety issue. Would be great if the rear mirror is a camera screen like some offering from Zeekr. the mirror is a tv screen of the rear.

In the version first imported to Turkey, the engine power is limited to 147 HP and there is no in-car camera and road recording camera. Secondly, the navigation program does not work. The spare tire is half the size and looks very ugly. The wheel rims are completely enclosed, as in electric vehicles. Newly designed steering wheels are used in both Chery models and Jaecoo models, but no one liked the use of the buttons on them. For example, sometimes when you press the right button, the left button can be activated. These are changes that will not cause much trouble. But there are some problems, especially in the software. I bought the vehicle from the Jaecoo dealer last week and had to go to the service 3 days later. Since 95% of the in-car controls are made from the tablet screen, its use is a bit complicated. The lack of manually controlled functions distracts attention, especially while driving. Some functions are opened automatically without the user's command or request. For example, the steering wheel heating system or seat heating may suddenly work, or the software suddenly freezes and becomes inoperable. I use Android Auto because I use a Samsung mobile phone. Android auto connection keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. This problem never gets fixed. The problem that I find most dangerous and that I think is software related is when the vehicle stops, especially on inclined roads (with autohold on or off) and when I press the gas pedal to move again, the vehicle lets itself go instead of moving forward and starts to slide according to the slope. You can only stop by suddenly applying the brakes. I don't know why it isn't taking the gas and moving into gear and it's moving in neutral. This is very dangerous because I don't know when I will have this problem. Sometimes it acts normally, sometimes it causes this problem. I encountered this problem at least 10 times in 1 week. When I went to the service, the mechanics could not do anything and said that they would report these problems to Chery Headquarters. It is completely unclear if or when a solution will be presented.

Competing with Havel H6. Needs premium 95. Looks like a discovery from the size. Price seems ok for the level of spec. Would have been better if it was a hybrid, as 95 petrol is expensive and fuel economy real world 9L/100km or worst?

Not as big as the H6 for second row or boot space, but this offers quite nice interior and driving experience. My best is around 7.3L/100km and I think 8L is achievable for most drivers

They are quite different. In my personal opinion, BYD is better at fuel consumption, rear seats comfort, overall driving comfort. Jaecoo J7 has better pricing, handling dynamics, overall design.
