Kim Jaejoong is an idol from past, debut in 2003 with the 2nd gen boy group *TVXQ*. He was the main vocalist (really good singer) and main visual (he is the blueprint for k-pop visual idols). Now he is 38, a solo independent singer (he not from any big record label). His music style is rock-ballad

thank you for the reaction! kim jaejoong, the host of jaefriends, was an original member of the extremely popular and legendary five-membered kpop boy group TVXQ (also known as DBSK) that debuted back in 2004 under SM entertainment. however, jaejoong and two other members filed a lawsuit against SM entertainment in 2009 and left and formed another group called JYJ, while the remaining two members continued with SM entertainment. TVXQ (now a duo) is still active under SM entertainment, while JYJ is inactive as a group, so jaejoong is more of a solo artist now (i think he recently started his own agency as well). everyone in south korea knows about TVXQ, and a lot of kpop idols have covered their songs. TXT themselves have covered a couple of TVXQ songs a few years ago, so meeting such a legendary idol as jaejoong through this show must have been a big honor. and i think you were able to catch that banmal is korean for informal/casual speech that is commonly used among friends and people comfortable around each other, while jondaetmal is formal speech that uses honorifics and is used by people when talking with others older than them or those with more seniority. the format of the jaefriends show is to have the guests talk with jaejoong casually, even though he is older and a very respected senior idol, which is why jaejoong allowed yeonjun and beomgyu to talk to him in banmal. and you are basically right about beomgyu's personality. he can be very chaotic and high energy, which is why he is the moodmaker of TXT; however, there are times where he can be quiet and reserved, and i think it just depends on his mood for the day. also he was definitely joking about reading books; i don't think reading is his hobby. please react to his new variety show, workout jjang! there are a couple of episodes out already on the mdromeda studio youtube channel!

The whole concept of JaeFriends is Jaejoong collecting 100 friends/guests without knowing who they are at first. His staff are the ones who prepare the flow of the show and he follows using that iPad with adlibs in between. *Edit:* Of course, people mention THE Kim Jaejoong. Ex TVXQ member that debuted in 2003; considered as Gen. 1.5 or the FIRST ever 2nd Gen. group. He and two others sued SM Ent. because of unfair payment and the 13-year long "slave contract." They won the lawsuit but they sadly got blacklisted from major broadcasting platforms for roughly 14 years. Because of this, the JYJ Law was passed in SoKor a few years later which prohibits blacklisting individuals/groups from television. JYJ (Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu)_ weren't legally protected so they got blacklisted, but at least now other people won't fall victim to unjust blacklisting, and it's all thanks to them!

10:41 yes this!!! i agree. i like bts but some armys are way too into the “bts will never be surpassed” “bts paved the way” mentality that it gets annoying to me bc bts wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the previous generations and bts themselves have stated that they were inspired by groups that came before them so it’s always weird to me when certain armys don’t acknowledge previous groups when their fav group has lol. also, just bc no kpop group has yet to come to the level that bts reached, it automatically means you’re gonna look down on the previous groups before bts that has reached their own level of success in the past? idk, some fans are just too much imo, lmao. 17:04 as a beomgyu stan, i will say i think he’s crazy and chaotic when it comes to variety shows bc that’s the purpose of a variety show so he’s fitting to that image but when he’s alone (like in lives or vlogs), he’s a bit more calm and quiet so maybe it’s just hard to get off his crazy image bc of how he is in variety lol but if you watch talk x today (their vlogs) or some of his livestreams, you’ll see a different side of his personality! i love all sides of him though. :’)

You're obviously a new K-pop fan since you don't know who Kim Jaejoong is.

@@AnkurAndKpopAndStuff The year 2019 was literally yesterday. In 2020, he won the 100 KPOP Idol Vocalist Rankings vote. Last year, Jaejoong guested on Yunho and Hongjoon /Ateez/ on Idol Radio. They introduced him as the "God of Idols"; "the reigning emperor of the idol"; "the king of the idol world"; "the textbook of idol"; "the master of idols".
