Suresh Ishwar Wadkar a.k.a. Suresh Wadkar is a well known Indian Singer known for his various songs in Hindi and Marathi. He has also sung in Bhojpuri , Odia and Konkani. Indian Government honoured him with the Padma Shri in 2020.
Suresh Wadkar was a trained Classical Vocalist, He entered the Sur-Singar competition in 1976. He won the competition which was judged by composers from the Indian film industry, He associated with Sh. Jagjit Singh for melodious song in film Prem Geet

जगजीतसिंह जी के देहांत के 12 वर्ष बाद भी आप दोनों लोग इस तरह से उनको याद कर रहे हैं मैं याद कर रहा हूँ 1989 -90 का वर्ष जब मैं अपने एक मित्र के पास बैठा था कुछ कैसेट्स रखे थे जगजीतसिंह जी के मैं ग्रेजुएशन कर रहा था ! पता नहीं क्यों मैने भी एक वॉकमेन कैसेट प्लेयर खरीदा दो छोटे छोटे स्पीकर लाया और मेरी दुनिया बदल गयी! उसके बाद मुझे संगीत में जो रस मिला उसे बता नही सकता!मुझे ऐसा लगता है कि वो एक ऐसे इंसान थे जो इतने बड़े होने के बाद भी बड़ी सरलता से सबके साथ निर्वाह करते थे! बस एक ही इच्छा है उन स्थानों को एक बार देख सकूँ जहाँ उनके चरण पड़े!

Me too a hardcore fan of Jagjit Singhji but being a music person, how could you give the term of Shahenshah e ghazal to someone other than great Mehdi hassan? Jagjit jee no doubt a rarest rare artist and he is my no 3 in ghazals. First two are definitely Mehdijee and Begum akhtar.
