Here kids, we can see a teenage jaguar trying to figure out how to remove the packaging off his favourite snack
@wolfpackpete64083 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if this is quite a teenage jaguar, still just slightly small. I also don't think anyone can allow a moody teenage jaguar to chew at clothes, especially around the neck.
@MikeJones-rk1un3 жыл бұрын
Interesting how the cat came back as soon as he turned his back.
@wolfpackpete64083 жыл бұрын
@@MikeJones-rk1un from what I've heard other big cat trainers say. I think he's only getting away with this because these are not fully grown. The jaguar in this video especially, I'm not convinced it's even quite in its teenage years, relatively speaking. Ok, so it's partly knowing the character of the individual animal. But even in a captive breeding environment, hand rearing these animals.. sooner or later one of them WILL hurt the human trainer! Allowing cubs to jump on his back and nibble clothes around his neck - is a big risk, if he's keeping them as adults... they've grown-up believing that this is acceptable. A heavier, moodier, teenage/adolescent or adult big cat could put a human to the ground by without even intending to. Then if it sees weakness and vulnerability, the apex predator instinct kicks in and it bites seriously. If the nature of this particular jaguar takes a remotely dark turn, he won't be handling it as an adult cat. It's too late now to tell it that can't do this.

For people that have never had the honor to interact with wild big cats it is unbelievable how strong the are. When I was in H.S. I had an acquaintance who owned two Jaguars that he kept in a big caged enclosure in his rural backyard and only he could go in the cage but he had a pet male ocelot he kept in his house. The first time a friend introduced us he told me, when we go inside his Ocelot will probably be hiding and will try to ambush us, just don't freak out, just relax and he won't hurt you. I grew up with lots of big dogs and we even had two foxes and a big male racoon when I was younger so I was just excited to meet the ocelot. We walk in and I am looking around waiting to see the ocelot and my friend asks the owner where he was and the owner says he's in here somewhere...just then the ocelot comes out from behind a chair and leaps across the room and takes me down on to the couch...he was STRONG and much heavier then I expected and was all muscle. Had he wanted to hurt me he could have, he just roughed me up a bit and then released me and sauntered away, satisfied that I was one of the pack. And that was an ocelot, I can only imagine the strength of a jaguar or tiger.

In my opinion, he's being very irresponsible. His interactions with these animals only serve to encourage those who have the means, to purchase them as pets, thinking that they'll also be able to play with the tigers, lions and jaguars in this manner. He should be educating people on their true nature and not showing off how lucky he is that he hasn't been mauled yet. When he gets attacked, then that animal will be shot. I don't think he's doing the right thing, no matter how you slice it.

@catfacepoetry32114 жыл бұрын
@@j-the-researcher8453 House cat practices on anything, and anything size is appropriate to a housecat. A housecat is not the same as a tame animal in a cage without prey to chase. We are talking about mammal, not insect, a top predator mammal that is smart enough to act on upbringing and strategy; the bond with the human is imprinted on those animals. Those bites - joyful bites, a house cat does it too. A house cat that watches its Mother kill for sports closely, has a much higher success rate than the ones that don't. Evolution is only part of it. It plays a role, just not as big as common sense thinks it would. Big cat is efficient hunter, not killing machine. Even snake your own size can be tame. Praying mantis your own size, not so much.
@j-the-researcher84534 жыл бұрын
I do agree that having a parent around to teach is more efficient than learning on your own and that mammals are probably easier to tame down than most insects. I know that the jaguar was trying to play with him but that does not mean it is not dangerous. Just a love bite can seriously injure or kill him. As you know jaguars go for the neck and have one of the strongest bite force of any mammal just second to the hyena. There are many cases of big cats attacking or killing there trainer.(sry if this is hard to read I'm not good at simple punctuation 😂 or forming sentences correctly ahh...... I really need to work on that. But thank you for the conversation it was informative and fun)
@catfacepoetry32114 жыл бұрын
@@j-the-researcher8453 The danger is not from the loss of control in playtime. It's when adult big cat fights over food. And whenever the human can't read its big cat is agitated, and kept giving to it what it rejects. Yes it had happened to people that had it coming plenty of times before. The man in the video looks like he knows what he is doing. He 'shooo' the tiger away and the tiger walked away willingly. Whatever a big cat is good at, it's good at its control. Seems the animals are well socialised to its own and human from cubhood. Well socialised animals don't lash out to kill over little discomfort, nor kill by mistake through the lack of control. Because it has great control over its fangs and claws. Watch how the jaguar speeded up its happy dash to ride its human back, as soon as its daddy bends over. There is no danger in that cross species love. Anyone can use the awareness you have expressed - not exposing its neck to a predator. But they are a family in the video. The Jaguar bite force allows it to one-hit its prey by biting through the skull. Its known to target the the skull for adult jaguar in its prime. The Jaguar in the video would have learned to not harm when its mouth was too small to bite down skull. There is a common reaction found in mammal; if and when a certain youngling (thankyou star wars) bites or scratch its playmate a bit too hard, and the playmate expressed its pain by making a sound, the aggressor youngling would stop hurting. The jaguar in the video is a teenager. It would have already known by that time. Let says one day the Jaguar is an adult. One day it bit its human to hard, and its human screams in a language I don't understand. The following days or weeks had the jaguar cut off from playing. The Jaguar would had learn further to not hurt its own family. Bigcat whisperer gets scratch all the time, that is a norm, not a danger.

These cats are beautiful and just hungry for attentions that is all,they are doing what house cats do.Only they are bigger,and that scares most people. @EduSanjuan7775 жыл бұрын
@@niccolomachiavelli8763 You dont know shit.Tigers are actually the FASTEST cats after Cheetah. They can go as fast as 45 mph for short distances. Lions are the slowest ones, particularly the males, and also the worst climbers and swimmers.Tigers are actually just as agile as Jaguars, except on trees.Jaguars are pretty amazing too, they are similarly fast, just slightly slower, but can do it for longer distances.Both of them are great jumpers and swimmers. In fact Jaguars and Tigers are the most similarly built big cats, as they have thick muscular bodies that are well proportioned, have the biggest heads and tooth related to body size(Tigers being the biggest all out on this) and have a low center of gravity natural stance, that makes it difficult to bring them to the ground or move them.People compares JAguars to leopards because of the colors, but the Leopards are quite smaller and are built a different way(Leopards have absurd strenght for their small size and are the most agile of all big cats by a big margin, but being roughly half the size of a big Jaguar they have no chance with them)Surprisingly, the Jaguars have the most powerful bite of all felines, even more than a tiger. But in a one on one fight head on against a tiger they are toast. They can only hope to ambush the Tiger and bite his neck or spine to disable it or kill it on one attack, if they don't do it, they have to run and pray. Only Lions can fight tigers, not only because of size and strenght , but because lions are built specifically to fight.And even then 7 times out of 10 the tiger would win, out of sheer size and brute strenght, and because they are more agile and mobile than the lions.The tigers weapons are also the biggest ones, both claws and tooth. The lions advantage would be on the front part of their bodies, they are taller than tigers and have freakish shoulders, long front extremities and the most powerful paw swipe of all cats. Meaning if a Lion wants to kill a tiger, needs to get in one of those powerful swipes at the beginning of the fight and push the advantage. If they don't they are also toast, as the tiger has better stamina and is altogether bigger and stronger while also being more agile. The lion would fight on 3 paws swiping fiercely.The tiger can get in 2 and box like a bear, while dodging the lion, but his paw swipes would be less powerful, if maybe more numerous.The Lion is like Mike Tyson, all powerful one handers, and The Tiger like Mohammed Ali, big and agile. However if the fight ends up on the ground, and on most cases, thats how a fight to death between big cats goes, the tiger is the master of grappling, has the bigger weapons and between 50 and 100 kilos of advantage against the Lion. If a Lion grapples with a tiger he is a dead cat.
@niccolomachiavelli87635 жыл бұрын
EduSanjuan777 haaahahhahahahhhhah listen to yourself.Tigers cant go more than 35 cause they get tired pretty quick.They also have bad agility and suck at hunting.They fail to even hunt simple food like baby deers.Have you seen a video where a black SMALL FUCKING BEAR kicks a male full grown tiger s ass?Jaguars are pound for pound the strongest cats of the felinae family.The only times tigers and lions fight is in cages.never fought in the wild,otherwise a full grown african lion would kick s full grown siberian tiger 6/10 times purely because they are faster have better defense AND more experience.
