I'm always amazed at how Luna acts and behaves just like a house cat. We have a small black cat who thinks she is a panther 😂. My mom and I watch every video for two years and never understood why her mother rejected her but now she couldn't be loved and cared for better. Thank you for sharing with us all over the world!

Yeah, it's a pretty sad habit that cats have. Even if they are living with humans and raising the kitten would be no problem. It's very common in nature. Cats typically abandon offspring if they are the only one in a pregnancy. It's assumed the kitten won't survive without siblings so the mother just gives up on it. But that's where people can step in. Of course, Humans most often only have one offspring per pregnancy anyway, so they try to make sure it has everything.

Rescues are about the only single reason these should be in the hands of private individuals, and even then, they should be living as naturally as is possible.

She seems sweet and they seem to take good care of her but I find it really disturbing that you ate allowed to keep a wild cat as a pet where they live. What if bad, lazy or ignorant people take one as a pet, that could become really dangerous and then a home isn't really the best environment for a wild cat.

@@teijaflink2226 Oh this is a very specific situation here. Luna's mother rejected her as a cub and wouldn't feed her milk. The woman in the vids actually was just a voluntary at first that was just supposed to help feed her and raise her. The feline became quite attached to the dog and the people inside the house, and vice versa, so they bought her from the zoo she was born at.

It's wonderful seeing Luna slowly come to accept your friends. A large, solitary animal like this being able to trust strangers at all shows that she's given a lot of care and patience. Seeing her body language shift to a more relaxed pose as she adjusted was a relief, and it was kind of funny how she still growled a little in protest when she was pet at first, yet maintained her calm demeanor as she came to enjoy the attention.

Kind of. Cats have had thousands of years to learn how to behave around humans in order to maximise food and head scratches. leopards... well she's had a couple of years. They're supposed to be solitary - once they get chased off by their mothers they're pretty much alone for life until they briefly mate and then raise cubs. In the wild female leopards are very territorial and won't tolerate anything coming into their space, so you can see new people make her anxious.

Panther is any big cat but again going off of memory, I think that the NA Cougar is from a different family than Leopards, Jaguars, Lions and Tigers. Cougars and Chetahs can’t roar while the others above can. So I think they are stil “Pantera/panthers,” but not big cats. Like you said, still solitary creatures with rare exceptions.

Luna no es que sea asocial. Los leopardos, por carácter y naturaleza, son animales esquivos, sigilosos y solitarios. Prefieren quedarse escondidos y no ser vistos. No confían en cualquiera. Please remember to always respect any kind of animal, even more so one as dangerous and big as this. ALWAYS pay attention to body language. If your pet is clearly distressed don’t try to walk up to them or pet them, just give them space. And with panthers especially, don’t try to cuddle them whenever YOU want. They’re independent creatures, and usually live in the wild. They follow their own rules, which you have to adapt to because if you don’t then…you know what will happen.

Like all cats, Luna is very beautiful. I love her luminescent large light-colored eyes and her elegant movements and sleek coat. You can tell by her coat, so shiny and healthy looking, and the fact that she is not overweight, that Luna is receiving excellent care.

She reminds me so much of my black cat Owl who recently passed away. He was big for his size and had such expressive eyes like Luna. Whenever anyone came over he’d get territorial and try to mark spots but he was a big lover boy when he got to know you. Thank you Luna and family. 🖤 🐾

I think she is the runt of the litter. She is a small panther. In this case is probably a good thing. Panthers can weigh up to a 150pounds. Luna probably weighs around 70-80 pounds. Which is perfect for this.

At least Luna stands her ground and reacts to houseguests! Our housecats all race and hide indefinitely whenever someone visits or even rings our doorbell! We can't even locate them! These cats have been pampered and loved and fed and played with since day one as little kittens yet somehow, they are all convinced we bring strangers into our home to torture and pillage them! I guess it's really more typical of cats. There are 5 cats in my family, and they all dislike someone else visiting our home. It's true they run away even when they hear doorbell ringing. No one is seen till guests leave. Though the oldest of them, Tyoma, who's already 22 is somewhat inquisitive so he may come out from his hiding place and interact with humans a little or just lie asleep with the company. 😻

@@lisareitzel7501 she's not wild, she's had her since she was a cub, and I'd guess it was born in captivity. It doesn't have the same precise instincts as it would if it grew up in the wild. Like if it reached maturity before making contact with humans, it'd be more likely to attack them cause it sees them as prey or a competing predator. But this myth that domesticated animals will just attack people for no reason is just silly. There is always a reason. Not to blame the victims, I'm just saying the animals interpret their actions as justification for violence. People are allowed to have pitbulls, even tho if they're raised improperly they're just as capable of killing you as a panther. I was just jogging a few years ago, with headphones. And I turned around and saw a GIANT pitbull chasing me. But I didn't panic, I didn't act like prey, I acted like I was his owner an talked to him with confidence and enthusiasm. A few minutes later his owner showed up apologizing profusely, but the dog really was just a sweet dog who had dug out of his fence.

That's a adult female black leopard, it is 100% a wild animal, no matter how young she was when she was taken from her habitat and put in a small apartment, no matter with how much love and attention she was cared for: that is ALWAYS going to be an apex predator and NEVER a pet. It's typical human arrogance to take it upon ourselves to decide to "domesticate" wild species that have no chance of being fully domesticated in the first place. The "myth" of domesticated animals attacking people, as you say, is a factual and tragic statistic, made possible by idiots who decide to live with bears, chimps and big cats and hope "love" will change hundreds of thousands of years of proud survival and evolution as lone carnivorous predators. Pitbulls are dogs, fully domesticated for 18000 year, you can train them awfully and cause accidents but that's completely on you (also EXTREMELY rare), a leopard on the other hand is a killing machine one skipped meal away from butchering everyone in that apartment and then go to sleep like a baby. Our kids, more fragile people and disabled individuals shouldn't have to learn how "not to act like preys" in order not to become leopard shit because maniacs need to have a fucking Apex as a pet. This is beyond stupid, stop endorsing this.

They still retain their natural Instincts and that it what makes them unpredictable. That is why there are numerous reports of people who have had big cats or other wild animals as pets attack unprovoked, even if they were raised since they were babies. Attacks caused by pitbulls are a result of poor training and violent upbringing causing them to become unstable, it is a learned behaviour and not a instinctual one.

Given Luna was rescued from a travelling "zoo", her poor mother was probably very stressed & her "rejection" was no doubt because of that stress & the fact that Luna was unwell. Happily Luna now lives in a great home not a small cage & has the freedom to frolic in nature.
