@ BestCanKeanRob2. Hei! Back in the day we only raced terminally rusty Jags. Any that were salvageable we restored and exported to Paris. They made the best money over there ! The rest were stripped of any useful spares and then raced. The engine in the winning car here was transplanted into my mechanics car and eventually exported. 100% recycled. Nothing was wasted in those days!!! Cheers/Skål, Jagmanchris211.

This was either 1975 or 1976 as chris medler was world champion two years running. You have to remember that most of these cars were given away as petrol hungry cars in the mid 70's went out of fashion.Example...My dad had a choice at a car showroom between an e type jag and a lotus elan both for sale at the same price.Petrol hungry cars wernt wanted anymore you couldn't give them away.Of course if you had them now it's a different story but this race was in the seventys..

I'm from Poland and back in 80's cars like 126p and 125p were luxurious goods here (and considered cheap scrap in the UK even when new) and back in 70's you were destroying REAL luxurious cars, that's sad nowadays ppl seek for socialism/communism ;)

This is the way it should be. Trying to get to the finish instead of driving full speed into a competitor. And next time they can use the same car, after some repairs.

Using Mk2 Jags for banger racing... Expensive to say the least, not to mention diabolical.

Good old Jaguars. Weight at the front, power at the back. And now a wet track and likely bald tyres too!
