As a professional classic car assessor and consultant and a privat restorer. I am giving here a free evaluation of a Jaguar E Type OBL. This is Jaguar E Type VIN 875305, so the 305th of only 385 produced left hand drive (LHD), outer bonnet latch (OBL) open two seater (OTS).

This is an example of how I am inspecting Jaguar E Type cars. Please note that I did not point out everything I have noticed as the purpose was to give a very good impression of the cars condition and status and what to expect why bidding at the BAT auction. Such things as production dates of the Lucas parts, clamps, hoses etc .... are parts that can be improved. I have pointed out a number of things which are significant for the early cars such as this one. We spent 3 hours at the car and but to really identify and document everything you would need even longer. Not many people out there are aware of all these little details and the purpose is to help others what to look out for. Of course, in a 45 minutes Video you can not cover everything.
Thanks to Jan, for sharing his time car collection with us.
I left the paint measuring in the video and in settings you can slow down the speed to follow it.
However, with that device and program I can create a printed report of every measured point.
Please get in touch with me, if you need assistance in any matter.

Thank you for your excellent and informative videos; I am sure your subscriber base will grow in time. I am in process of rebuilding the first E Type I ever bought, back in 1979, sadly the company to whom I entrusted it too went bankrupt and when I got my car back many parts had sadly been stolen. I am currently collecting those parts, where possible with original - so your videos and most helpful. I wish you well both in business and with this channel; I am very impressed with your helpful content to date and thank you for your ongoing content.

Johnathon, many many thanks for your special feedback. I feel deeply sorry for your unfaithful experience and I can assure I know what you are talking about. It is for people like you and me I am making these videos for. To help and to encourage you that you are not alone. We are so many brilliant individuals who together would create an invincible source to fulfill our dreams. I am sure there will be a lot interesting stuff coming up. It just needs a bit of time and those who are ahead can get confirmation, there's might need to wait. I have restored cars from 61 to 66 and know all the parts by surname. A new video will be launched pretty soon. Please stay tuned and give feedback to guide me.

RMO and Sr trolling the XKE internet, Great! I watch all your video’s while putting the finishing touches on my XJS. I always wanted an XKE and soon may have one. This walk-through session was very informative, Tabs, grease-zirks and striker plates. That is quite a collection this Gentleman has, he’s a Driver. The camera (Camera-Woman) work is very good and steady. Thank You f͏ro͏m͏ Chicago.

Oh those E types are so iconic getting so much wanted ,72,000 made and most of them still exist ,that tells you something 😊😊😊
@JaguarEType
@JaguarEType 9 ай бұрын
Hi @simon-oy6um, you put it in words. They are so desired that still that many cars do exists and that is also because they can be used for touring!!! and or for local pleasure. When you calculate 72.000 cars over 13 years, you arrive at 5.500 cars produced / year. The S1, what is my favorite and probably the most desired after 60 years is still running perfectly and compared with modern cars, I and many kits along the road can still identify an E Type. I prefer the E Type, which after 60 years might be even more sustainable than a modern electric car which still needs to be produced.

I was pleased to hear you complimenting the owner on the car at the end because despite his efforts there was a long list of things to replace to make it more original and he was probably getting quite depressed about it.. Hey, if you call in an expert, what do you expect? Its great you spend the time explaining these things because there will be people out there restoring E types who will learn a lot from these video's..

Many thanks for your feedback. Exactly, that was my approach. Being a bit more specific rather than just saying, "Oh, what a nice car.". Should help others learn about their own cars and watch out before you are buying one. Thanks for sharing and 👍

If I ever get to buy an E Type I will ask you to appraise if for me. You have missed nothing. Tiny little things that most people would miss you have picked up on. Well done To me the car looks perfect you have found many faults. I would feel very disheartened now. But they are very minor. It’s still a very very beautiful car.

Hello Jeffrey, many thanks for yours feedback. My other inspections are usually private orders hence not for public. This time I made it to support the BAT community. You find other interesting things in my other videos or my website www.etypes1.com where I am also documenting the restoration of my FHC no. 885066 from early October 61. And that is VERY original and perfect.

Hello @franklupker9293, the car was offered on BAT in early 2022 and reached an offer of 205 k USD, reserve not met but I believe it was 295 k. About the same time a 65 OTS sold for 215 k and a 67 OTS sold for 205 k USD.
