A blast from the past the Jaguar owned by Dr. Lionel Reese on Waterloo St. in London Ontario I remember the car well. His daughter Carol was the same age as me and they lived directly across the street from us we lived at 1010 Waterloo St. The scratches on the front hood are from when his garage door closed and hit the hood when he stalled it pulling out of the garage long before they had sensors on the doors.. That I see the car again after all these years is remarkable. I have a fully restored 1970 signal red OTC so life has come full cycle. I still live in London only a few miles away from the Reese household. I am sure he has long since past as he would be in his late nineties by now.

@RodMitchell-i2u Incredible story what you are telling. How unreal must that feel. I am happy to have this remarkable car in my video. I was blown away. What a crazy car maniac must he have been. Putting nice running cars in a storage. Odd, it came all the way across to Europe. Thanks for sharing.

@@JaguarEType I went to university in London Ontario and now I live in Europe. I often think about buying one of these cars but it never seems to be the right moment and they are now so expensive. In my opinion they are overpriced. Still exceptionally beautiful but overpriced.

Thank you Maikel- this nice report from Brussels is the first in the last decades that did not cause me pain as the standard reports from the various EU parliaments... As far as I know, all the hardtop were delivered black and the brown one presumably was painted with a vacuum cleaner. I love the ice blue colour especially for Series 1 OTS.

Hello Maikel, these small paint bubbles on the green series three are known from cars that were restored in the eighties or early nineties and in which a subsequent spray galvanising was applied to the sheet metal surfaces. After sometimes 15 or more years there are chemical reactions with the applied paintwork. Greetings from Dülmen, Sabine and Dieter

Hi Maikel! Excellent reporting on Brussels and I should say that your coverage of the Italian show last month and now this one really help better understand where the market is and what is presented out there. It seems that prices are coming off their highs from 2 years ago, which is healthy. My 61 OTS FF WL is almost ready to get picked up in St Louis and come down to Florida, hopefully for Christmas !! Your advice and observations have greatly helped. If business goes well I would like to find a 61 coupe to keep the OTS happy… as original as possible like the November one you helped analyze. These videos are a tremendous resource and are exhaustive which make them extremely valuable. Thank you so much for sharing them. Hope to see you soon.

Good day Gil, so nice to hear from you and that your car will hopefully be finished before Christmas. Thanks for watching all my content. And sure, you must be very happy with your flat floor. To find a FHC will be lot harder as there were only 500 made. That is like finding a nice OTS OBL. Let's stay in touch and yes, I think you are coming to Europe and we might meet in Paris at the Retromobile. Say hello to Valeriè

That would indeed be a great car to drive, after making sure the mechanics are top notch!

Hi Maikel, nice video again. Funny to see some cars coming by which I had looked at online while during my search for a E-type. Such as the gunmetal on red car, where you’ve pointed out a few things. Interesting to see different cars at different price ranges. I love the colour combination of the blue ‘61 roadster, very 60ies.

Great thumbnail of the V12! Love it. Anyone buying cars from eastern Canada, it's buyer beware as it is known as the rust belt for good reason. They had to spray engine oil in the cavities to get a few more years out of them.

@RichardMichaelOwen thank you Richard 😊, I was instantly in love with that thumbnail car. But you say they are inclined to rust. What a shame 🫠

Yet again Maikel, a learning walk through the world of E-Types. At these car shows you attend, the stand owners if they know you - must quake in their boots when they recognise you when you walk up to their E-Type's - and pull them apart re their originality - though you are quite the gentlemen in how you do it!. It also shows via your knowledge, how the sellers can dupe the buyer they are after - 'buyer beware' as they say. As to that lovely original V12, E-Type with the hardtop, you call 'Olive Brown', I'd call it 'Pooh Brown' (though British Leyland call it possibly GREENSAND I think? - only the British could produce a colour like that - can you imagine Ferrari painting a period Daytona in the same colour at the time! Jaguar were not alone in Britain with similar colours, Triumph were good enough to call a similar colour SABLE on the 3-Litre Stags. But I love these colours! ha ha.

Nice comment, I like your fantasy with the Ferrari in this Bown colour. .... have the intention of helping the buyer and the seller . A buyer without knowing the product might be very reluctant to buy. And a seller with a too high price is wondering why hebhas no customers. Hence I hope I am creating transparency and trust which is good for both. Unless the seller wants to find that stuff..... who is paying.

Hi John, I am actually hoping to bring the buyer and seller closer together. As you see, sometimes the seller does not know what he has and is pricing it wrong with the result nobody buying. Does that help?!🤔 On the other hand, the buyer wants to buy something but is not sure what he is looking at. Hence, my idea is to create more transparency, which might cause a lower sales price, but at least a sale. And hopefully, a happy new owner. I understand someone wants to make a profit, but therefore, you need to find a customer who wants it and is trusting you. I would like both sides to understand my approach. It is buyers be aware but also the seller be prepared. Just cleaning is NOT a full restoration.

I put in a comment with the website of the Dutch restorer the guy was mentioning around 27:00 but it disappeared. Is that not allowed? Anyway, Maikel, if you google Andre Nout Classic Car you will find him. Also, I wanted to make a compliment on the camera work, which is great, as usual!!! Thank you.

Nice to see so many E Type's but sadly are 100% original. But, very interesting to see. So many things to learn with classic cars or any make. The devil is in the detail as they say.

Thanks for watching. My intention is to put things right. Here, a "nice" looking car for ONLY 139.000, is in real an unfinished restoration. There are still people dreaming about a flawless car for 140.000 €. That will not happen, not even if the saleman, or women in the Bologna video, is telling you what you want to hear. Be aware, careful, and critical. Do youself a favour and bring a real expert, not those who have seen a screwdriver from the distance because they are cheap.
