I am pleased to say I have just become a proud custodian of a 1958 Jaguar MK VIII Cornish grey over mist grey.

Best restoration I have seen. Whoever bought this one got a gem! Excellent investment too! Back in 1967 I bought one for a couple of hundred dollars without an engine. Had a used engine put in. With the exception of needing the engine, it was in grand condition inside and out. I seem to remember after driving it for a year, selling it for around $1,000. (It was my "baby RR Silver Cloud!) I am sure they are worth close to $100k now in concourse condition. They will only go up!

I bought a 1959 MK IX in 1969, drove it continually, am finally selling it after more than 51 years of wonderful driving. I'll miss the car, but I'll also miss the many great conversations it would spark when it was parked outside & at exhibitions.

2.42What a beautiful old jag I owned a mark 2 it was a 1964 It was a 2.4 litre automatic i bought it in 1977 for 700 hundred pounds it had only done 47 thousand miles it belonged to chivas regal whiskey 🥃 it had been chauffeured driven its life unfortunately a french artic ran me into the crash barrier and wrote it off the basdard never stopped

The bonnet leaping cat was re-introduced on the rare Mk8, not the Mk9. The Mk8 was my very first car.

I've a mk1 2.4 and mk2 3.8 presently with no intention of selling either but I would love a mk9 or one of the original S Types.
