I love old Jags, this beaut is no exception. However the camera seemed to be focused on the presenter more than the car. We'd have liked to have seen all over everywhere, in the boot, inside tool drawers cupboards, more of the engine the carpets, all the neat touches, finishes, etc.

I really appreciated the genuine enthusiasm of the speaker and his accurate details of what makes this saloon car so advanced and powerful, under a very stately skin. I agree- show more of the car and less of the presenter's expressive hand movements, plus the music was inappropriate and annoying.

I want to add a comment about price. My MKIX saloon sold for $6,300. in late '58, so the much higher US price may have been responsible for the lower sales numbers, but It can drive circles around almost any fifties sedan, and with all-around massive disc brakes in 1958. Amazing !

A "DG" model with fluid flywheel (no torque converter). My Rover 3-litre Mk.2 had one. He really could have looked it up.
